Chapter 23

Y/n's POV

My tears wouldn't stop falling even after everyone but Camilo left, my eyes felt strained but despite my constant persistence for Camilo to leave he didn't it made me feel better that he didn't want to leave my side I looked up at him my face hurt from all the crying as he looked at me he smiled "mi amor? How are you feeling" he asked his voice gentle and kind I smiled at him tears still visually flowing from my eyes. "I don't know how to feel," I said he stood up really fast and then placed his arms on each side of me I looked at him and he kissed me, my heart fluttered like a gazillion butterflies were flowing through my stomach, and I kissed him. After a couple of seconds, he pulls away wiping what was tears from my face"I'm glad I could help you feel better" he said I felt my face and noticed I wasn't crying anymore, I smiled and hugged him he hugged me back. I wanted him to be here forever holding me like this he looked at me and smiled "I love you, y/n" he said my heart started to beat faster and I smiled "I love you too, Camilo" I said his golden-brown hair falling in his face again, I laughed he looked at me. He had brushed my hair while I was crying so I gently tucked his loose piece of hair behind his ear "thanks, mi amor" he said and mored away from me "get dressed" he said and I smiled he walked out the door but I could hear him outside the door I got up from my bed and to my closet, I went with a fancy white collard shirt and dark green flowy skirt. After I changed I put on some shoes that made me a little taller then went and opened the door Camilo looked at me and smiled "you look nice" he said I smiled at his compliment "thank you" suddenly his hands were by my neck I looked at him and he pulled his hands away "there you go" he said "what did you do" he smiled at what I asked "I fixed your collar" he said I,  laughed at myself for a second and then we started to head downstairs "bye Mama bye Papa!" I yelled out the door as it closed behind me Camilo took my hand and smiled his signature cocky grin "we're headed to the Casita" he said as we started to walk my house was the farthest from his and it was frustrating but I got over it

(an hour later)

We reached Casita and Mirabel and Isabella were playing in a small pile of flowers I smiled at them getting along "What is going on here?" Abuela said and they quickly got up off the floor Camilo looked at me and said something about going upstairs really quick and I nodded he let go of my hand and left and Abuela said "That's enough Mirabel! I don't know why you weren't given a gift but that is no excuse for you to destroy this family" I stepped closer and my anger started to boil I knew that wasn't what Mirabel was trying to do and it made me angry that that's what she thought was going on I felt myself step in front of Abuela "you can't even begin to understand what she has done to protect your family" I said my voice wasn't raised but it was very stern Julieta and Agustin walked into the room Luisa and Isabella standing close by "you have no right to barge into this family I don't care if your my grandson's girlfriend" she said and I smiled "that's lovely to know, but I'm a friend before a girlfriend." I said she looked at me confused "Mirabel has done things for this family that makes me question if you two are even related" I said and her face turned into shock "yeah, she gone through a sand dome which WE almost got stuck in to save your damn house that you're so worried about" I said "why you are for it I don't know, but one thing is for sure. This house isn't your damn husband" I said no regret at all

"I won't ever be good enough will I?" she said "no matter what I do, no matter what any of us do" she continued "Isabella will never be perfect enough and Luisa will never be strong enough," she said "wanna know why your house is breaking it's because of you" she continued "dont you ever" "your the one breaking our family" she yelled and a giant crack formed in the floor this one bigger than the others which scared me the doors started to flicker and i saw Camilo against the railing looking down to see it the house shaking and lost my balance and Mirabel helped me up as i stood up properly Mirabel ran to the railing to get to the candle i tried to follow but another giant crack formed by my feet i looked up and saw Camilo was going after her "Mirabel it's dangrous!" he yelled he shapeshifted into other people isabella went after the candle too while i was stuck suddenly Isabella's vine disapered and casita cought her Camilo jumped and he almost reached to roof before he fell

"We have to get out," Felix said holding Antonio everyone got pushed out but me, I had gone numb I couldn't think of a way out I could hear Camilo yelling for me to get out I looked at the cracks "don't look down don't look down" I repeated to myself and then jumped I had almost missed the jump I started to run to the exit but a giant boulder blocked the door I looked up and saw Mirabel got the candle and Casita was pushing her down and it started to push me too we landed in the same place as Casita blocked the rubble from landing on us after I saw Mirabel look at the candle and I looked at it too It went out a second later.
