Chapter 15

Y/n's pov

Bruno, Mirabel and I were hiding behind some potted plants "alright while you two whatever your doing imma go catch up with camilo" i said standing up Bruno looks at me and smiles "you like him don't you" he asked i felt a blush creep onto my face i had kept forgetting the Bruno didn't know that i did in fact like camilo, i kept smiling awkwardly my hand moved to scratch the back of my neck through my thick long hair. "Maybe" I say half awkwardly and genuinely. Bruno smiled "i know i've seen the way you look at him" he said i looked confused "i live in the walls i see and know all that goes on in this house" he said moving his hands in a odd fashion "alright Bruno im going to pretend that isn't creepy to any extent"  i said i waved him and Mirabel a goodbye before i walked into Camio's room he wasn't there i noticed the pair of warm clothes he was going to give me folded neatly on one of his many tables that are in his room

I walked over and noticed there was a small note. I looked at the paper labeled "To: Mi Amor" . The note looked hand written, which surprised me and I looked at the handwriting 'how does one boy write so neatly?' i thought to myself and opened it "if you are reading this Amor i have left some dry clothes on the table, im sure you saw them by now but, change into them before you get a cold please. I was told to do something i'll be back home shortly' i felt my heart beat faster he wrote this for me i looked at the note and then at the clothes an pair of blue loose pants and white collared shirt were folded next to each other separately and what looked to be his ruana, no it wasn't the one he wore all the time but it was very similar this one was a little more used like it had been through hell and back i go into a separate room along with the many other rooms in his one room, i changed quickly and grabbed the ruana it did in fact smell exactly like him.

I ran back downstairs just as I heard Abuela say "you should have told me as soon as you saw the vision!" she said yelling at someone i peek behind the door and saw camilo standing in the doorway he turned around and smiled and me i stood next to him and watched abuela "think about the family!" she said "i was thinking of my daughter!" he said "mama you have been nothing but hard on Mirabel since the day she didn't get her gift" Julieta said her mom looked furious she turned her head and saw me "you?" she said angrily "what are you still doing here" she said and then camilo covered me from her view "you take your complaints somewhere else abuela" he said his abuela looked at him and smacked him across the face i moved himout of the way and she looked at me anger is all i saw "i don't know what your doing to make him act like that but it is a disgrace" she said she held her hand up and i moved back quickly. Camilo noticed my scared expression and gave me a sad smile 'its gonna be ok' he mouthed to me and the SMACK my face turned a bright pink and it stung i started to tear up "miss the village is asking for you they are concerned about the magic" a man said opening the door she left the house after demanding someone to find Mirabel

I got up and grabbed my cheek. Camilo helped pick me off the floor "Mi amor are you ok?" he asked brushing my cheek ever so gently with his thumb and i started to tear up he pulled me in for a hugg and i started crying it felt safe to cry in his arms i didn't feel judged when it came to him Juleita came up to the both of us and hugged us as i cried pepa coming to join too the husbands look at each other then join in "i'm sorry about abuela" pepa says my tears dont stop running down my face they let go of me and camilo and camilo wipes the tears away from my face "im sorry too" he said i looked at him tears swelling in my eyes but i gave the best confused look i could he smiled wiping more tears away

"I'm sorry i didn't protect you" he said his green eyes looked down into mine and i shoved my face into his chest he patted my head and then rubbed my back "What do you mean?" Pepa asked and he looked over at his mom "Her abuelo abuses her" he said plainly Pepa's face went sad clouds forming around her head i felt my tears start to stop as camilo held me tighter and i smiled

Camilo's POV

Her tears had stopped i was happy she could recover from that she looked terrified and i feel so bad that  didn't step in the way to defend her and i looked back down at Y/n and hear soft yet gentle snores and i picked her up "I'm going to put her in my room so she can sleep" i said dismissing myself and walked to the stairs and thought to myself on how i could make it so that abuela didn't lay a hand on y/n again i got up the stairs and went to my door which unfortunately was on the other side of the stairs i opened my door gently and laid her down "goodnight y/n"
