Chapter 3

Y/n's pov

I was shaken awake by Camilo and Lee they both looked worried "oh my god, we did it Lee" he said giving him a high five I sat up and yawned "did what?" I say my soft yet sleepy voice echoing through the small space "we've been trying to wake you up for thirty minutes" Lee says "you're a really deep sleeper" he said I giggled "no im serious I was trying to impress Mirabel with how much weight I can pick up and I dropped something and it crashed through the floor" he said "we looked over to you after it happened because I didn't wanna wake you so soon and you slept through it"

I look at him then at the floor and saw Casita had a small dent in the floor "your dumb" I say his smart ass grin was the next thing I see and I pick up Lee "I'm sorry Lee what time is it?" I look over and Camilo had gotten up and grabbed his alarm clock "SEVEN IN THE MORNING??" I yelled panic was the next thing I could feel "Abuelo is gonna kill me" I said and Camilo shook his head "I told him I couldn't wake you up so you and Lee would spend the night and he said it was alright" I sighed in relief "Lee is a good cuddle buddy" he said

I smiled and nodded "where did you guys sleep?" He pointed to the extra bed that was laying across the room and I smiled "ok I didn't mean to sleep for so long I'm sorry" I said he shook his head and put his hands up one went behind into his curly locks and rubbed the back of his neck he smiled sweetly at me and I gave him a small smile back.

"What are your plans for today?" He asks I had to think for a second I think he thought I was ignoring him but my mind hadn't fully woken up yet "to my knowledge I don't have anything to do today" I say his small frown turned into happy grin the grew as he stared at me "well we could go to my favorites spot in the Encanto he says his voice echoing through the room filling my ears with his excitement and I smiled his green eyes look over at Lee and then back at me in a moment his eyes lost the shimmer of happiness before he looked down.

It took him a second to look up his eyes hadn't went back to shimmering the way they used to his green eyes stared into mine he opened his mouth to speak but closed almost as fast he looked at me before opening his mouth to speak but suddenly the door flew open "CAMILO" Felix had yelled through his big room Camilo looked behind him and waved his papa over I let out a breath, one I didn't even know I was holding I looked at Lee then back at Camilo his eyes were happy again as I'd he forgot what sad thing he was thinking about.

"Hey Y/n, Antonio had so much fun playing with Lee he wanted to know if he could hangout here for a bit" Felix said I look at Lee and hesitated I never liked letting him play with others especially ones I didn't know I look at Camilo he must have saw the look on my face "My mama and papa will be watching them, you have nothing to worry about" he said and grabbed my hand but I didn't look at him I was in my thoughts things like "what if he falls from the tall tree" and "Lee is to small, what if he and Antonio play hide n' seek and finds a tiny space and they don't find him?" I was snapped out of my thoughts

Camilo had put his forehead against mine "what ever your worried about you can let it melt away, this is the safest place for him" he says his words fill my ears I looked at Lee he was smiling as Felix held him in the air like he was flying I smiled "Ok, he can stay here" I said and Camilo's head moved as he turned to his papa calling him over "Sooo?" He asked his voice was as energetic as Camilo's and made me smile "he can stay under two conditions" I say before I could speak Pepa and Dolores walk in Pepa looked at Felix and he smiled and she stood next to him "Okay the conditions?" He asks and nod

"One, you are to watch him at all times, I know I sound paranoid but he's small and he could easily get lost" I say they looked at each other and nodded "two, he can't have sweets before a meal" I say my voice dropped to a serious low I really didn't like him or his brother eating sweets before a meal "y/n/n, I promise I'll be on my best behavior!" He said his happy voice soothed my worries over and I smiled "oh one more this ones for Lee" I say Felix and Pepa smile and I look at him with a mad look to mess with him but then pat his head "have fun." I say

Couple hours later

Me and Camilo had left after breakfast, I didn't mind it helped me stay awake he and I would make conversation and then stop and walk for a minute we both enjoyed the silence but I could tell he was nervous he kept rubbing the back of his neck as he would chuckle and smile like a goof "hey Camilo, what's your favorite color?" I ask we had been walking around for a bit and we decided to stop "Orange" he said and then looked at me "green" I say he looks at the flowing of the clouds in the sky "hey y/n?" He asks I look over "yeah what's up?" I responded looking at his eyes that were glued to the sky and the pretty clouds

He looked at me his eyes sad like they were earlier "what happened to your Tia?" He said I looked at him me and my Aunt were close really close when she would come to visit she would always bring my favorite snacks and blueberries

A month ago

"KAYKAY" my mom yelled from downstairs I ran down to see who was at the door and smiled when I see my aunt being lead into the kitchen "Y/n! Look at what I brought" she says putting the blue berries on the table "where's your brother and sister?" I look up at her from the table "Katlyn is still asleep and Andy is out in town with his friends like normal" I say opening the package of blueberries taking a handful and eating them slowly "aw rats, well I brought a guest" she said and Lee comes from around the corner "oh my god" I say picking him up "you got so big!" I say I hadn't seen him since he was two.

"His brothers were to lazy to get up but he wanted to see you so bad" she said the smile on her face made her face glow he long curly blond hair was messy as if she had just waken up her green eyes shimmered like the stars in the sky, I smiled "Lee I missed you so much too" I say tickling his sides "y/n/n" he laughed and I stopped his black hair and green eyes reminded me of his dad uncle Layden and his mom my beautiful aunt his cheeks were chubby and his smile brought joy to me every time I saw it

"Goodness that was heavy" I could hear uncle Layden say after climbing down the stairs I ran over to him giving him a big hug "haha I missed you too my favorite niece" he says setting me down "alright well I'm glad you could let us stop by" they say taking Lee and Walking to the front door they wave before opening it and leaving

Camilo looked into my eyes he put his hand on my cheek "I didn't get to say goodbye" I thought I could feel warm tears stroll down my face Camilo was quick to wipe them away "y/n if you don't wanna talk about it we don't have to" his voice was full of pity I hated it but I couldn't stop the tears from flowing "I haven't seen her in a month" I said "she came by every two weeks to bring me fresh blueberries from her garden and cookies that she made for me and my siblings" I say my breath was heavy and I couldn't get the thought of her beautiful smile out of my head

Her glowing smile, I felt Camilo pull me into a hug my face hidden in his poncho I couldn't control my emotions I hadn't talked about her in a while the only ones who knew how close we were was my mom and dad and they're not even here to help me get through it "can I try to cheer you up with something" he says pulling me out of the hug and I nodded as he switched into her I looked at him my brain couldn't process it, I knew it wasn't her but all I wanted was to see her smile again

I didn't even notice my tears had stopped all I could do was stare at Camilo as he gave my aunts smile, " I miss her" I say my voice had broke he looked at me and switched back "Losing a family member is always hard no one expects you to conceal your emotions your allowed to feel things too" he said his eyes were gentle there was no pity in his voice just genuine concern

" I have to, for Lee, I don't want him to think lower of me when I have to take care of him I take care of everyone in my family my Abuelo is to old to do much and my sister doesn't care enough" I say "So I'm left to be the responsible one because my brothers and cousins are boys and need to stay active and" I was cut off "You don't have to do anything by yourself" he says "One of my chores is helping people all you have to do is find me and I'll help you with anything" his eyes looked into my soul I smiled "Thank you Camilo" I said and he smiled "anytime" he says his smile was so bright if it had been night time his would have been lighting up the small park area surrounding us
