Just so you know, the majority of the story from now on is going to be Tris, unless I specify otherwise. This chapter is short on purpose just a heads up.

When I wake up, I immediately feel my sore muscles and groan.

"You better?" Tobias asks groggily.

"Yeah," I say, lying. I stand up and as soon as I do, Tobias hops out of bed and supports me. My hand rests on his shoulder, helping myself bear weight.

"Where does it hurt?" Tobias asks.

"Everywhere," I say with a painful smile.

"Seriously, though," he says.

"I don't know, uh. My torso, my head. Anywhere I bled or got a bruise, basically."

"How are your ribs doing?"

"Only hurts when I breathe," I say sarcastically, remembering the last time I said that. I was still an initiate and he was still my instructor. Now, well, we're much more.

"Well we can't do anything about that, can we?" he asks with a light laugh.

"Would you go my funeral now?" I ask with a small smile, teasing.

"Well, I'd go whether or not there was cake," he says. I laugh, but that was a horrible idea. Instantly, I feel like I just got punched in the gut and I would have collapsed

"Do you want to go to the hospital?" he asks, helping me down on a chair.

"Are you serious?" I ask him, my eyebrows raised. Sometimes he can be so dramatic. Especially when it comes to my wellbeing.

He nods, furrowing his eyebrows.

"Tobias, it's not like I jumped off the chasm. It's just a few bruises. I'm fine, I'll get over it, " I say tersely.

"Fine? Tris, my idea of fine is not barely being able to walk and feeling a stabbing pain in the ribs when you breathe or laugh," he says, his voice raising.

"All I need is pain medicine. I'll get over this," I say. He helps me sit down in the chair.

He just nods.

"So we don't have work today. What do you wanna do?"

"We firstly, I was thinking that maybe we should eat breakfast," he says with a smile. "Then, maybe we could just hang around here, maybe do something with the group later?"

"Sounds great," I say.

"Okay. Well I think you should eat. I'll get you the pain meds."

And with that. He walks away to go fetch them.
