Tris POV
"Oh my gosh Tris, thank god."
Tobias smiles and kisses me again when Caleb rushes in. "Guys, we need to move. Now," he commands. Tobias and I pull back and look at each other startled, then at Caleb.
"Right now!" Caleb shouts.
I nod and look at Tobias, who is just as confused as I am.
As we run out of Erudite, my bare feet ache as they hit the gravel of the road. I feel blisters forming until the pain becomes almost unbearable. "I need to stop running," I explain to Tobias and Caleb as I sit down on the street.
"We can't," Caleb says with desperation. "They can track your every move. Erudite injected Dauntless with a tracker, remember? They can pin-point exactly where we are at all times."
Heaving me up over his back, Tobias grunts and says to Caleb, "Let's go."
They begin running again and I slowly drift into unconsciousness, entranced by his neck tattoo swaying up and down with each step.

When I awake, I'm back in Dauntless, still not knowing what happened. I turn on my back and see Tobias in the chair of his room.
"Tobias?" I ask.
His head jolts and he slowly walks over to me. "Yeah, Tris?"
"What happened? What's going on?" I ask, my voice laced with desperation.
"Well, turns out the whole operation on you wasn't approved by Jeanine, and when she became aware of it, chased us off. When we arrived back at Dauntless, we were pronounced to have joined factionless. However, their announcement was retracted when they saw us. I explained that you were in a critical condition, so I stayed with you until you were saved by technicians in Erudite. They believed me, but took a large sum of points out of my allowance. Less from your's. You've been out of it for three days."
"What's happening to Caleb? Is he in trouble?"
Tobias is hesitant to answer but eventually says, "Yes... They told him his punishment will be severe. They're stripping him of everything and threatening that he will be kicked out to join factionless. He wrote me a note a day ago, and I met him where he told me. He said that there were people who were trashing his apartment, and a bunch of different incidents, like being beat by superiors and trash talked. So, naturally assuming you wouldn't want your brother to go through this, I formulated a plan. It will ensure that he escapes Erudite wrath, however doesn't join factionless," he finishes.
I offer him a smile and say, "You're amazing, you know that?" He smiles back, and I ask, "So what are we going to do?"
Again, Tobias hesitates before he reveals the plan. "It will be risky, and there's a large possibility it might fail. And even if we do succeed, it might not be ideal for him, but I figure that it's better than Erudite."
"Tobias, what is it?"
"There isn't a list that are sent out to the factions of the inductees. So therefore, he could join the Dauntless on the train ride to the compound, and join in on next year's initiation. I figure we could assist him in this endeavor, and get him in. He will pose as a Candor transfer, seeming as though he has no filter as to the clever remarks that escape him. And knowing how Candors act as rransfers, we can instruct him as to how to act. But the only problem with the plan is that he'll have to wait three more months."
I stare, fazed as to the flaw in the faction initiation. "Tobias. I don't know to say. You're saving my brother..." I gather him in my arms and whisper, "Thank you," against the material of his shirt.
