Thank you all who commented on 'Notice.' It really meant a lot and has encouraged me to attempt to update twice today. Btw don't kill me here bc of what happens in this chap. Just trust me, okay. It's not what you might think :)

"Are you sure?" Christina asks me. "I'm not sure you should. . ."

How could my best friend doubt me? "Of course I am!" I respond. "I'll tell him today. He deserves to know that I love."

"Tris, don't!"

"Why?" I ask, incredulous.

"Because . . ." she says, not able to finish to finish her sentence. We round the corner and I see Tobias. But he's not alone. He's with Nicole. They're frantically kissing and he's touching her boobs.

"Wha-" I say softly.

Tobias turns away from Nicole and sees me. Tears stream down my cheeks. How could he?

"Tris!" he shouts, surprised.

I shake my head and turn around. Christina is gone. Now, I know what she was warning me about.

"Tris. Tris!" Tobias screams. "Please let me explain."

I don't answer. I just keep walking and wipe my tears. He grasps my hand and jerks me back toward him.

"Tris, I'm so so sorry I didn't mean to."

"Just shut up," I say, crying. "I trusted you."

"I know you did, but-"

I cut him off. "No, Tobias. You can't explain this! If you think this is something that could just be wiper clean with an 'I'm sorry' then you are so wrong. I was going to tell you that I loved you tonight! I loved you and I trusted you and you went behind my back just to get some action! I can't believe I ever trusted you, but I know for sure I will never forgive you for this."

"You love me?" he asks numb.

"Yes, I did. But obviously this relationship means nothing to you."

"Tris," he says, trying to get my attention. I won't look at him.

"Tris," he says more forcefully this time. I refuse to look at him.

He broke me. The tears in my eyes are proof of the scar he has left.

"Tris, please look at me," he says. I'll never look at him. I look at him.

His eyes are the song of anguish, soft and intense. They plead with me to forgive him. But instead of apologizing again or saying something ridiculous like that he loves me too, he says, "Wake up."

~•~

I awaken to a loud knock on the bedroom door. Tobias.

"Tris! Tris! Wake up! Let me in!"

"No!" I shout back.

"Tris," his voice sounds raspy. "Why?"

"Just leave me alone," I cry.

"Baby, what's wrong?" he asks softly yet loudly.

"For heavens sake, Four, just leave me alone."

I can't help but imagine him eventually realizing I'm not good enough for him. And then he'll leave me for someone better. Someone like Nicole.

"Tris, I don't understand why you're mad right now. Or why I slept on the couch. If I said something last night, I'm a real asshole but right now I want you to open this door so we can sort out whatever happened or I will break it down. "

Reluctantly, I unlocked the door and went back under the covers, trying to hide my teary eyes. A dip in the mattress a few moments later indicated that he was sitting beside me. His hands drew patters on my back through the sheets.

"Tris," he whispers. "What's wrong? What did I do?"

"You're going to leave me," I whisper so softly I didn't think he would hear.

"Why would you think that?" he asks, hurt.

"Because I'm not good enough. And the day you realize that, and that you deserve better, you'll leave me for someone else."

"Tris . . ." he says softly. "You may think you're not good enough for me, but let me tell you something. You're everything I've ever needed of wanted. You're better than that. Tris, you're so perfect and I wish you could know how much you mean to me. I lo-"

I come out from the covers and kiss him softly. I am his and he is mine. Anything other than that is unfathomable.

My lips move slowly against his and I breath in the moment. For the first time in my life, I wonder what our future could be together.

Or at least I try. The moment his hands pull me flush against him, I can't think of anything other than this kiss. We stay that way, our bodies close, but our lips separate.

"Why did I sleep on the couch, Tris?" he asks.

"Because you got drunk and tried to do things with me," I say.

He sighs and looks away. "How bad?" he asks.

"Well you pinned me against the door and I tried to get away but you wouldn't let me. I have bruises on my arms from your grip. So I made you sleep on the couch."

He gulps and looks up at the ceiling. "I'm sorry," he says, ashamed.

"You were drunk it doesn't matter," I say, plainly.

"Still," he says. "I'm not gonna go overboard on drinks again."

"Thanks," I say, quietly.

"We'd better get going for work," Tobias says with a deep breath.

"Yeah," I sigh.

A/N

Sorry this is a really short and boring chapter lol. It's just a filler so oops. Possibly another chapter today and maybe even two more. Depends on how much time I have. And, yes, I understand that I should have made this muchhh longer lol. But yeah lol. Have. Nice day and I'll definitely start on the next chapter later today. It will be more eventful, I promise!

I have a plan and something...interesting is coming up lol. Plus I have basically a plan for the next 20 chapters and I can't wait for initiation bc I'm saving the main part of the story for that portion lol oops.
