It was now 3 months since Steve went in the ice and things were getting somewhat easier. I wasn't waking up every morning crying and I was back working with Howard and just being his secretary. I was getting home from work one night when I walked in Peggy was leaving my apartment where she had been staying a few nights a week.

"Hey, I hate to run out on you but I just got a call from those people I told you have been talking to about that group you wanted to start. They ran into some problems so I am going to go see what I can do." Peggy said and I nodded.

"Okay, you need me to come?" I asked.

"No, it will be okay. Dinner is on the oven. I'll see you later." Peggy said and left. I sighed and sat on the couch flipping through a magazine. I looked at the time, turned the oven off and then headed to the community center. I sighed when I walked into the room and a couple people looked at me.

"Hi, welcome." The lady said from the front of the room and I smiled.

"Sorry that I'm late." I said and she smiled.

"We were just getting started, come on in and have a seat." The lady said and I took a seat in the circle that was there. I was sitting beside two women, one was looking at her wedding set on her hand and one was rubbing her pregnant stomach and I sighed.

"So it's about time to share, does anyone want to go?" The lady asked and no one spoke up.

"I'll go." I said and everyone looked at me.

"I'm Hazel and I lost my fiancé and my childhood best friend." I said and everyone shook their heads in shock.

"After losing them it left completely alone. My parents are gone, my fiancés and friends parents are also gone. I have made a friend recently and she has been great but she doesn't know what this feels like." I said and some of the women nodded in agreement.

"Why don't you tell us about your fiancé. What branch was he in?" The lady running the meeting said and I sighed.

"Okay so my fiancé was Captain Steve Rogers." I said and everyone looked at me. Their looks turned more sympathetic and this isn't what I wanted.

"Oh Hazel...." The lady running the meetings said.

"Yeah and as you can all guess James Barnes was my best friend." I said and everyone just hung their heads a little more.

"Well I think we can all say a collective thank you for Steve's sacrifice and we are so sorry for you loss. Why don't you tell us more about Steve. Things not everyone would know." The lady said and I sighed but shook my head.

"I don't think I am there yet, I'm sorry." I said and she nodded.

"You said Steve was your fiancé, how long were you engaged?" She asked and I huffed a laugh.

"A few days." I said leaving out the part where we broke up for a day or so.

"But we had dated since high school." I said and everyone gave a small smile.

"Whatever else you feel free to talk about please do." The lady said and I sighed.

*****STEVE POV*****

"So, you were in the ice for 70 years?" Bucky asked Steve as they sat talking. Bucky had surprised everyone when he turned out to be The Winter Solider who was an assassin for Hydra which I thought I had fully disbanded. When I had saved Bucky from being captured he had already been injected with the super solider serum. When he fell from the train he survived but lost an arm which Hydra replaced with a metal mechanical arm. We found him when Natasha, Sam and I fought him thinking he was an enemy because he was being brainwashed. Natasha and I were now Avengers and Sam was joining the crew. Bucky survived because after Hydra replaced his arm they put him in a cryofreeze saving him for the right time. Once we got him we were able to get him help and he was back to being, my friend. It was nice having him back, a part of my past.
