Chapter 20

It had been 2 months since I had been back and I was adapting to everything amazingly. I was sitting on the couch at Tony's as the team was out on a mission. I looked at Pepper who was sitting beside me reading.

"So I was thinking..." I started to say and she put down her book.

"Okay..." Pepper said.

"I have loved staying here. You, Tony and Morgan are amazing but I am thinking about talking to Steve about moving into his place when they get back." I said and Pepper smiled.

"Well we will miss you but I know Steve will be happy." Pepper said and I smiled.

"Have you heard from them recently?" I asked and she sighed.
"Tony called yesterday and said they will still be a few days. Things aren't going according to plan." Pepper said and I rolled my eyes. A few hours later Pepper and I were eating lunch when Bucky and Nat came walking through the door panicked.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Pepper asked.

"You need to come with us Hazel, it's Steve." Bucky said and I panicked and got up and rushed to put on my shoes and we were out the door. I got on the back of Bucky's bike with him as Nat followed in her car with Pepper and Morgan. We pulled up outside the compound that Steve had taken me to a week ago to show me around. Bucky and I got off his bike and he took my hand taking me inside. We reached the hospital wing and I looked and saw Steve laying on a bed and I looked at Bucky in shock.

"What happened?" I asked as tears filled my eyes.

"Ambush. We thought the building was secure so Steve went off by himself to find a missing hostage but he was he was met by like 50 agents." Bucky said and I groaned.

"He was stabbed in the side and shot when he ran." Nat said coming up behind me.

"Can I go in?" I asked and Bucky nodded opening the door.

"Bucky, he isn't up for visitors." The lady in there said.

"Dr. Cho, this is Hazel, Steve's fiancé." Bucky said and she nodded and didn't say anything else. Bucky grabbed me a chair and I sat down grabbing his hand. Steve was passed out and I just sighed as some tears fell.

"Steve...I'm here." I said kissing his hand I was holding.

"Wake up now." I said and he just stayed out. I put my head down as some tears fell and I felt a hand on my shoulder and I looked to see Tony.

"I am so sorry Hazel." He said and I shook my head.

"Not your fault. I know Steve, there was no stopping him from going alone." I said and Tony huffed a laugh.

"He still heals fast right?" I asked and Tony nodded.

"Yeah. We are just waiting for him to wake up." Tony said and I groaned. Tony and I sat in silence for a few minutes.

"Tony I will be extra careful but can I get I bed with him?" I asked and Tony looked at Cho who nodded.

"Of course." Tony said and got out of my chair and got in bed with Steve placed my hand on his chest make sure I didn't touch him anywhere that was hurt. I noticed he was in a hospital gown and giggled to myself knowing he would hate that. I then noticed a few of the cuts and bruises he had on his face and I placed my head on his shoulder.

"You need to wake up Rogers. I want to move in with you." I whispered and then drifted off to sleep. I wasn't sure how long I had been asleep but I felt fingertips running up and down my arm and I smiled looking up and seeing Steve awake looking down and me and smiling. I then saw his split lip and it sent me back to when he used to get into fights.
