The next morning Steve was gone before I woke up but there was a cup of coffee waiting for me on the table with a note.
-Future Mrs. Rogers,
I love you and I hated leaving before you woke I had to go home and get changed. I will come pick you up at lunch and we will be having lunch together, just the two of us, then dinner as well. I owe you a lot of meals Hazie. I love you and I will see you soon.
Love,
Captain Rogers-
I smiled at the note and then sipped the coffee before I got out of bed. I was getting dress when I heard a knock on my front door and I was confused, I opened the door and smiled seeing Steve there.
"Good Morning Miss Morris, I am here to offer you a ride to work today." Steve said and then leaned and passionately kissed me.
"Can't stay away can you Rogers?" I asked and he smiled. He grabbed my left hand and looked at my ring.
"This says I don't have to." Steve said and I smiled rolling my eyes. He then pulled me flush against him.
"You get my note?" Steve asked.
"I did. After dinner tonight are you staying here again?" I asked and Steve nodded.
"You want to keep trying the serum effects don't you?" Steve asked.
"Well I mean research and testing is part of my job." I said and Steve smiled.
"Well I would hate for you to not be able to do your research." Steve said and I nodded. Steve then looked at the time.
"We really need to go get you to work." Steve said and I groaned.
"Can't we just hide out here all day and ignore responsibilities? I mean you are going to leave me soon." I said and Steve sighed.
"And I will be back before you know it. Those bases don't stand a chance against yes." Steve said and I groaned. He then released me and I locked up the apartment and headed to work.*******************************************************************
It was a couple weeks later and Steve had just left with his group they named the Hollowing Commandos. I had been promised updates now since Steve and I were engaged which didn't please some people, like Phillips. I was sitting at my desk when Peggy came walking up.
"There is new film reel of them, you want to come watch?" Peggy asked and I stood up and followed her to the film room. As we watched Steve give orders I watched him to make sure he was okay and Bucky as well. I saw Steve pull a small notebook from his suit and on the front was the picture of me and I smiled. Peggy nudged me and I looked at her with the smile on my face.
"How many more stops?" I asked and she sighed.
"A few, they are going after Dr. Zola now, Schmidt's right-hand man." Peggy said and I nodded. Once the film reel was over I quickly left the film room. I had to keep everyone from seeing me almost in tears knowing every stop they made was becoming more and more dangerous. As I finished some paperwork for the day I went home and realized how lonely and empty it felt without Steve and I just laid on my couch and cried.*****STEVE POV*****
I stood on a cliff side with Bucky and the rest of the Hollowing Commandos and we were waiting for confirmation of Dr. Zola being on the train that would be traveling below. We were going to have to zipline down to the train.
"Remember when Hazel and I made you ride the Cyclone at Coney Island?" Bucky asked me as we looked over the cliff.
"Yeah, and I threw up?" I asked and Bucky nodded.
