After Steve explained everything to me even including how Bucky was still alive I sat in shock. Steve was just looking at me as I looked at my hands and fiddled with my engagement band that he hadn't noticed I was wearing until now. Steve reached over and grabbed one of my hands.
"Hazel?" Steve asked and I looked up at him.
"You okay? Do you have any questions?" Steve asked and I huffed a laugh.
"Questions Steve? I have a million questions! None I can even comprehend to form right now." I said and stood up letting go of his hand and walking to the railing on the porch and looked out at the lake. I turned to look back at Steve.
"I saw you 6 months ago, in 1945! Yet, its 2022 and you have barely aged! You and Bucky are both alive and Super Soldiers, which I have comments about later." I said and Steve smiled and shook his head.
"Steve, I don't get this! Why did you bring me here?" I asked and Steve sighed.
"Hazel...." Steve said walking up to me and standing beside me and went to grab my hand that was on the railing but I moved it.
"You can let me touch you, I'm not going to burn you or anything." Steve said and I sighed. I looked down at his hand on the railing and I hooked my pinky in his and he smiled.
"I'll take it." Steve said.
"I know I kissed you back at my apartment and now I barely want to touch you but Steve I was in shock and I had just seen you for the first time in 6 months. I mean I thought you were back in my time." I said and Steve nodded.
"I know Hazel and I am willing to accept that and know you have an issue with all of this. I know it was a lot to bring you here and I maybe I shouldn't have but Hazel ever since I woke up from the ice all I have wanted was to get you back." Steve said.
"Why did it take so long?" I asked and Steve huffed a laugh.
"We may have advanced technology now Hazel but it still took time." Steve said and I smiled. As he talked I moved to interlock my fingers in his. It was my left hand hold his right and he looked at saw the diamond band.
"So you really never took it off?" Steve asked and I looked down.
"Who told you I didn't?" I asked and Steve sighed.
"Peggy, she was alive and in a nursing home when I woke up." Steve said and I nodded with a smile.
"What else did Peggy tell you about my life I won't live now?" I asked.
"Well you never got married or had kids. You couldn't find anyone that stacked up to me." Steve said and I huffed a laugh.
"Well, it's hard to stack up to Captain America." I said and Steve groaned. He lifted my hand to his lips and kissed the ring and I smiled.
"Steve, I want to go back to where were before everything but...-" I started to say and Steve nodded.
"I know Hazie and it's okay. It's going to take time." Steve said and I nodded. I then looked at him.
"Can you just hold me for a while?" I asked and Steve smiled. He nodded as we walked over to the wicker couch on the porch and Steve sat down and I sat beside him and cuddled into his side and pulled my legs up on the couch. He ran his fingers through my ponytail and played with it. I smiled and looked up at him.
"If I wake up tomorrow and this has all been a dream it will be the best dream I ever had." I said and Steve smiled down at him.
"Hazel I want to kiss you so bad right now, but I am moving at your pace here." Steve said and I smiled at him.
