Autumn-
"You never told me you name was April!" Ryder shouted offended.
We stormed out into the street.
It was too early for anyone to be around.
"My name isn't April!" I assured him.
"Well your friend seems to think otherwise!"
"Shadow is family, families give out nick names all the time!" I reminded him.
"Just tell me now! Autumn, is that your name?"
"I don't see why this is such a big deal!" I argued.
"You're stalling!" he accused me.
"I'll answer your question if you tell me why this is such a big deal to you!"
"Because!"
"Wow, great answer!" I spat sarcastically.
"Because you're lying to me!" He hissed.
"Lying to you?!"
"Yeah! how am I supposed to trust you if you keep lying to me!"
"You don't trust me?" I asked now offended myself.
"How can I when you lie to me all the time!"
"I don't know about you Ryder but lying comes naturally to people like us! Everyone lies! we lie to survive! So Ryder, How do I know I can trust you!" I screamed back.
He opened his mouth ready to protest but nothing came out.
"Exactly!" I spat.
I pushed passed him and stormed back into the basement.
"Shadow!" I yelled.
"Autumn wait!" Ryder was at my heels.
"Shadow we're leaving!"
"Autumn!" Ryder was less than a meter behind me.
"Shadow!" I called again ignoring the guy behind me.
"A?" shadow came into view as I stepped into the main room.
"Shadow we're leaving." I told her sternly.
"But where will we go?" she asked confused.
"Don't worry, I have friends who trust me." I spat the word at Ryder.
"Autumn stop!" Ryder tried getting me to stop moving.
He was kidding himself if he thought I would listen to him now.
"Ryder why do you keep messing things up!" Chloe yelled at him annoyed.
Shadow finally agreed to come with me and we headed for the stairs.
Ryder grabbed me by my shoulders stopping me from going any further.
I jumped at the sudden contact and instinctively screamed.
"Get off!" I shouted my heart thumping against my chest.
Shadow was in front of me in a split second creating a gap between Ryder and I.
"Don't touch her!" Shadow pushed him back.
It was so sweet how she tried to protect me.
Ryder stepped back willingly, knowing he'd crossed a line.
"Come on Shadow." I took her by the hand shakily.
I knew she wasn't a baby but it was a habit.
