Autumn-
I watched my parents being murdered in front of my own eyes, I saved a little girl from a beating, and yet I still end up in an empty town, population 2,550, possibly more, most likely less.
What did I ever do so wrong?
You hear those happy bitches talking about life being a fairy tail, if so where's my happy ending?!
I hopped down from the buses step and looked at the faded tarmac road and the yellow lines down the middle.
looking up all I saw was a tall hedge blocking my view of anything beyond.
I looked around.
The stupid bus driver dropped me off in the middle of nowhere!
"Hey mister!" I hissed as I spun around to look back at the driver.
"What?" he asked annoyed.
"Where's civilization!" I demanded.
"There's a dirt road at the next corner follow that and you'll find Aventador." he told me.
I frowned, "why don't you drive me? isn't that your job!"
"Listen here honey, I've been inside this bus for twenty four hours only getting an hour break every five hours, that's If I'm lucky. So saying this as a man that wants to go home to his family, you've got legs, so walk!" he hissed as he shut the bus doors U-turned and drove away.
I stood on the side of the road shocked. My mouth hanging open.
Digesting his words I walked into the middle of the road and stared at the back of the bus, "At least you have a family!" I yelled as loud as I could and then stood there helplessly.
It's not like I have another choice.
I spun around and looked at the never ending stretch of road.
I collapsed onto my ass and looked at the road ahead.
Sighing I stared at the long endless road, too tired to move.
Why does life hate me! what did I ever do to it! I don't pollute! I didn't hurt anyone... who didn't deserve it, I haven't done anything to deserve this!
As the sun began going down I forced myself to my feet and walked to the side of the road with my side bag and back pack and looked up at the darkening sky.
probably shouldn't have waited this long to begin my journey.
I held my arm out in the hitch hiker pose, hoping someone would come, in a town like this I would be surprised if anything on two legs existed.
With a shaky sigh I began walking with my arm held out to any passing cars.
*****
I have been walking for 5 hours and with the faint light of the moon I can barely see where I am going but am sure I'm still nowhere near the next corner.
Did I go the wrong way?
My arm was getting tired and holding it out seemed pointless.
Until two car lights lit up the road and my stomach did somersaults inside of me.
Please, please, please!
To my gratefulness the truck pulled aside and then my heart sank.
It was a truck full of most likely drunk guys.
There were eight on the truck bed, two on the top of the trucks roof and one in the drivers seat, all my age and all male.
"Why are we stopping!" The two guys on the roof yelled.
