Autumn-
Daughter?
He said daughter didn't he?
Oh god.
I mean it makes sense with her name on his chest and all.
But he's only seventeen!
Wait, if he's got a daughter where is she?
Oh no! she better not be dead, if she's dead I will cry.
"Where is she now?" I asked wearily.
I had no information about this topic so I was pretty much treading water asking questions about her.
"She's with her mom back in Vergennes, Vermont." He answered.
"Do you ever get to see her?"
"They come up for a week every two months it takes a day and six hours to drive here so it's pretty hard on them."
"How old is she now?"
"Nine months this month."
My heart melted.
"When are you going to see them next?" I asked curiously.
"Actually, that was Destiny on the phone before, Destiny is Indie's mother, and she called to say her and indie will be here by Wednesday." he explained.
My eyes lit up with excitement.
"Can I please meet her! please!" I begged him.
"I don't know." he said teasingly, "I mean do I really want my baby around some stranger?"
I could see where this was going.
I could have cut to the chase.
But I decided to let him have his fun.
"I guess it would be ok if we were dating, but because we're not, I just don't know..."
I rolled my eyes.
That's enough fun for him.
"Fine, i'll go on a date with you."
"Excuse me? I couldn't hear you."
"I will slap you." I warned.
He held his hands up in mock surrender.
"So can I?" I asked.
"Can you what?" he asked dumbly.
"Can I meet indie." I shook his shoulders
"Well I'll need someone to help me out with her."
"Don't you have Destiny?"
He shook his head, "she takes this week to do whatever she wants to do its her one hundred percent baby free week as she calls it." he explained.
Good for her.
"What about your parents?"
"They hate me for what I did to Destiny, they pretty much resent me now, I don't blame them either, I hate myself. But what can you do, I love Indie and that's all that really matters right?"
"Awe, that's so sweet."
"It's sweet that my parents resent me?"
"No." I laughed, "its sweet that all that really matters to you is Indie."
"Well I'm glad you're not running from me because I have a baby." he admitted.
I shrugged, "don't say that yet, there's still time for that."
