i was too busy crying in the bathroom
to notice he was asking for me
17 going on 18
and i one month into 15
and he was kind, funny
the kind of guy who writes your number in a pad of paper
and brags to his parents about you
the kind of guy who asks you about Monty Python instead of nudes or sexual fantasies
the older boy of your dreams
the one who you could really see a possible future with
but i was too young to think about dating
too immature
and now i think about the wasted opportunity and what could have been
