who am i to love you?
not quite beautiful
not quite interesting
there are no stories written about girls like me
i live between the lines
the empty spaces that have no real meaning
just implication on who i could be
a sense of self so liquid im see-through
and i yearn for opacity
to know who i am and be happy with herwho am i to love you?
i give your silence more meaning than your words
reading the blank lines as if i will find myself in them
i wish to be poetry
at least then i'll be permanent and possibly beautiful
carefully handcrafted stanzas
written in black ink, shown on white paper
real
tangible
seenwho am i? do i love you?
or are you another inconsistent passage?
just a page in life-long story never read
a chapter in a book never published
so forgotten she would have never even sold
words so unimportant, you'll question why she was even written.who am i to you?
do i deserve your presence?
with a moderately happy life and a plan for your future
the world loves you as i think that i do
everything we know about you is good
but me?
my mind commits treason daily,
reminding me of the hopeful lies she's made up
the life i supposedly live
where day is night and black is white
and there is no future
and my mind is confused on what is realwho am i.
