Kagome's POV
Kagome listened to the conversation, lost in thought. How was Y/n faring with Naraku? It's been quite some time now...
"Kagome! Are you paying attention?" Inuyasha snapped, forcing her back into reality. "We're going to the shrine of the Water God and finding out what the Hell is going on, ya hear me?!"
Kagome flinched slightly but answered him with a nod. The half-demon huffed, climbing onto the boat. Miroku and Shippo followed, but Kagome hesitated.
"What's wrong Kagome?" Sango asked, climbing onto Kirara's back.
"Nothing," Kagome replied, climbing onto the boat. From the demon-slayer's somber gaze she knew Sango didn't believe her, but thankfully the older female said nothing more.
As Kirara pulled the boat towards the shrine, Kagome stared off into the distance.
"Don't you dare zone out on me again Kagome!" Inuyasha snapped, pulling her into his arms. Kagome's eyes widened slightly in surprise. This was unexpected.
Inuyasha's POV
Inuyasha held Kagome in his arms, resting his head gently on her shoulder.
"Are you sure you're okay?" He asked softly.
"I'm just worried. We all know what Naraku is capable of," Kagome sighed.
"Kagome, I don't mean this to be rude, but you need to stop thinking about your sister," Miroku began. "It's getting in the way. If we can't get you to focus, there's no hope in saving her."
"I know, Miroku. I'll try harder," Kagome promised. As Inuyasha let go of her, he shot Miroku a greatful glance, to which the monk answered with a nod.
Kagome's POV (Again)
They arrived at the temple, and Kagome forced herself to focus on the mission at hand.
Inuyasha kicked away the guards, breaking down the door. He glanced back at everyone before darting inside.
Huffing, Kagome followed closely behind Miroku and Sango, Shippo clinging onto Miroku's back and Kirara holding on to Sango's shoulder. Not much farther to go.
(Some time later)
Inuyasha burst out from the water, the water snake's tail wrapped tightly around him.
Kagome held the Water Goddess in her hands, watching as Inuyasha hit the water snake with the Tessaiga, causing the demon to drop him.
The fight continued on, Inuyasha's arm now in the snake's mouth.
"Inuyasha! Give us the Trident!" Kagome called.
"On it!" He growled, punching the snake in the head before throwing the Trident towards them. The snake hissed and knocked the Trident into the water with its tail before going back to fighting with Inuyasha.
"I'll get it!" Toro called, diving into the water before Kagome could stop him.
Kagome took a step back, hollow with dread. Things were going wrong...
(Some more time later)
Kagome glanced back over her shoulder at the village. Things had went afterall it seemed. Maybe things were going to get better.
Your POV
You sat beside Naraku, knees tucked into your chest. The silence was driving you crazy, but you didn't know what to say. Afterall, what could you say?
You glanced at him, before glancing away again, still unsure of what to say.
"Is something wrong, Y/n?" Naraku asked suddenly. "You seem upset."
"Wouldn't you be upset if you were forced to stay in a room with the person you're supposed to be enemies with?" You retorted, shooting him a glare.
"I'm not forcing you to do anything," he replied, his gaze unwavering.
"Well-" you paused and turned away with a huff. You didn't know what to say. He had brought you to his room earlier, but he never said you weren't allowed to leave. And he wasn't exactly holding you down either...
"Don't think this means anything," you huffed, feeling your face heat up slightly. "I'm just bored and want to hangout with someone."
"If someone to play with is all you want, you'll soon get your wish," he told you. You could just hear the smirk in his voice.
Wait a minute... What did he mean by that? You looked at him, hoping his expression would give something away, but he had turned away from you. Just what did he intend to do?
