Kagome's POV

"This way!" Kagome called, pointing in front of her.

"See, Inuyasha? Kagome is the only one who can sense the Jewel shards," Miroku informed. Inuyasha responded with a huff.

"Come on, Inuyasha!" Shippo whined. "Just stop fighting already!" In response, the fox demon received a quick punch to the head.

Suddenly, the bushes rustled, and out came a couple of thieves.

"Don't worry everyone, they're just ordinary thieves," Miroku explained. The one in front, who appeared to be the leader, became angered by his statement.

"Who you calling ordinary thieves?!" The leader snapped, holding up his spear.

"Everyone stand back! The Jewel shard is coming this way!" Kagome called out, taking a step back.

"Huh? I don't see anything," another of the thieves said, glancing around along with the rest of the group.

That's when a load roar was heard, and a chopped tree became hurtling towards them. Sango charged forward, tossing Hiraikotsu at it and chopping it in half.

That's when the demon bear came into view, and it was absolutely massive. Kagome had kinda figured, but she didn't think it was gonna be quite that big.

Inuyasha huffed, grabbing Tessaiga out of its sheath and jumping up to the bear, slashing at it.

As Inuyasha landed, they all heard a repetitive buzz sound. Naraku's poisonous insects, Kagome hummed, watching along with the rest of her friends as the insects surrounded the bear, clinging onto it.

One flew up to the bear's head, grabbing ahold of the Jewel shard embedded in the demon's forehead before flying away. The other insects finished the bear off before joining the one with the shard, supposedly to fly back to Naraku and give it to him.

"It could be a trap," Miroku informed, stepping up beside Inuyasha. Kagome agreed with Miroku, knowing that Inuyasha had already been thinking about following the insects.

"I don't care," Inuyasha growled. "Come on!"

Your POV

"Remind me why I have to be here," you sighed, following behind Kagura.

"Naraku believes you'll be useful for this plan," the Wind Sorceress informed, glancing back at you. "But I honestly believed that he would want to keep you near him," she finished, gazing forward again.

You didn't respond. You silently agreed with Kagura, since Naraku even went as far as keeping you in the same room as him.

Just what are you thinking this will accomplish Naraku? You wondered, furrowing your brow. It just didn't make sense.
