Unexpected Love (Naraku x Fem! Reader)

Chapter 35

Your POV

Upon arriving, the town was deserted. Every house appeared to be destroyed, torn apart and smashed into the ground. This didn't appear to be the work of Kagura.

But Inuyasha knew better. His nose was on the ground faster than you could say "Naraku." You always thought the times he acted like a dog was funny.

But before any of you could get very far, something big came running. You immediately caught a glimpse of the spider scar on his back, and knew that Naraku was to blame for what happened to this poor village.

"You must be Inuyasha," the incarnation stated, stopping right in front of the half-demon.

"Maybe I am," Inuyasha growled. "And who exactly are you?"

"I am Goshinki. The one who destroyed this village."

"Goshinki," a feminine voice called out in a warning tone. You knew it was Kagura even before she stepped into view. Goshinki looked over at her.

"You do not believe in me sister," Goshinki commented. However, you were more so surprised by the fact that he called Kagura sister and didn't get his head cut off. But everyone else seemed to notice that something was off.

"How were you able to tell?" Miroku asked, taking a small step towards Goshinki. Goshinki smiled, but said nothing.

You sighed and rolled your eyes. Goshinki turned to face you.

"Ah, Y/n. You think this is a huge waste of time and want to hurry up and get this done and over with. But, more importantly, you want nothing more than to kill Naraku."

You huffed. Goshinki smiled again, but said nothing. He was very different from Naraku, wasn't he?

You weren't paying attention as to what happened after that. You caught glimpses of Inuyasha and Goshinki fighting, and then, suddenly, the Tessaiga was in Goshinki's mouth.

Time seemed to slow around you all. At first, the Tessaiga was whole, and then broken. Your eyes widened as the broken sword fell to the ground, and you didn't even have to look to see the shock on the faces of your friends.

Inuyasha wasn't having it though. His anger spiked, and he was back fighting with Goshinki before anyone could move.

The fight continued on for a bit, but it was clearly wearing Inuyasha down, and Goshinki had the advantage of reading minds. Next thing you know, Inuyasha was lying on the ground, dead.

You heard a gasp from beside you, and looked over to see Kagome just before she wrapped her arms protectively around you.

Your eyes focused back on Goshinki as he began speaking.

"Now that he's dead, I shall devour you all. Starting with you, my dear Kagome."

Instinctively you grabbed your dagger. Goshinki took a step towards you and Kagome, a small smile on his face. He didn't manage to get very far though.

You only caught a flash of silver and red before Goshinki's arm was cut off and Inuyasha was standing in front of you. Your eyes widened. You could've sworn he was dead, but, even so, something about the half-demon was off.

"What's wrong, Goshinki? Don't you wanna fight?" Inuyasha asked, his voice a low snarl. Goshinki's eyes widened and he took a step back, but said nothing.

Inuyasha let out a small chuckle before leaping at him. The half-demon's claws grew longer, and he easily cut through Goshinki's other arm and then his head.

The fight was over that quick, and you still didn't understand what was happening.

When Inuyasha turned to face all of you, you saw that his eyes were red. He had similar markings to Sesshomaru, as though he just turned into a full-blooded demon.

"The demon blood in his body took over," a voice explained. To your surprise, you found Myoga sitting comfortably on your shoulder.

"With the Tessaiga broken, he had a strong will to live. He used the demon blood to stay alive," Myoga finished.

"Kagome, stay back!" Miroku called. You immediately turned around to see Kagome taking careful steps towards Inuyasha.

"Stay back Kagome," Inuyasha growled. "I might hurt you." At least he's aware, you huffed, grabbing your dagger and taking a step towards them.

But to your and Inuyasha's surprise, Kagome wrapped her arms around the half-demon, and began to cry.

Something seemed to snap in Inuyasha's mind, as his claws began to shrink to their normal size and his own arms hesitantly wrapped around her.

Relieved, you placed your dagger back in its sheath. You gave a soft smile. Seems like things were okay afterall.

Naraku's POV

Naraku glared out the window. Kagura and the Saimyosho had just returned, informing him that Inuyasha was alive and Goshinki was dead.

But that was only part of the reason of why he was so angry. Kagura also told him what Goshinki had heard from Y/n's mind. He was sure that Inuyasha and those irritable friends of his had done something to her.

But, to be sure. He'd have to get her back. It was only a matter of time.
