Chapter 43

Your POV

All of you rode on Hachie's back; Miroku's friend. You sat beside Kagome and Shippo, glaring at Inuyasha's back while Sango, Kirara and Miroku sat near Hachie's head.

At the moment the eight of you were looking for the ruins of Naraku's castle; the one place you so desperately wanted to avoid. The thought of that traitor made your blood boil, but you tried to keep your cool.

"Are you sure Naraku's castle was here?" Inuyasha asked, arms crossed. You glared at him.

"Yes, I'm sure," Sango replied.

"What if it was just a false castle?" Kagome asked. "It's Naraku after all."

"Can y'all stop questioning Sango?" You huffed. "Besides, I know Naraku's tricks like the back of my hand; that castle was real."

"Y/n's right," Miroku chimed in. "She's been stuck with him throughout the majority of this journey. We just got her back again after the first time we met Kagura."

"Don't even mention her," you hissed, baring your teeth. Miroku raised his hands.

"Um, Sango, what's that?" Kagome asked suddenly, bringing your attention to the piece of armor in Sango's hands.

"It's my father's armor," Sango breathed. You frowned.

"Well then," Miroky chimed in, unwrapping the top part of his kimono, "let's not leave them here in this tainted ground. Are you fine with moving them Sango?"

"Yes," Sango murmured, swallowing back tears. You looked at her and said, "I'm sorry this happened to you Sango."

"Don't be," Sango replied, shaking her head. "It can't be undone." She stood up. "Let's go bury them"

After burying the armor from Sango's fallen kin, Sango placed a small bouquet of flowers on the grave. You all stayed silent for a moment before Kagome gasped and said, "I sense a Sacred Jewel shard!"

"Where is it?!" Inuyasha snapped.

"This way!" With that, Kagome ran off. Inuyasha ran after her and you followed closely behind them, with Sango, Miroku, Shippo and Kirara closely behind you.

Where Kagome sensed the Jewel shard there was a strange spider-like demon. However, an oddly familiar boy was there.

Your eyes widened upon remembering. Kohaku! Sango also seemed to realize who it was since she quickly killed the demon with her Hiraikotsu.

"Kohaku!" Sango called, running up to her brother and holding him in her arms.

"Is he okay?" You asked, coming up beside her.

"O-oh, Y/n, is that you?" Kohaku asked. You nodded.

"Kohaku, do you remember me?" Sango murmured. Kohaku turned his gaze to her.

"N-no. I only know Y/n. She was my only friend in the castle. Am I supposed to remember you?"

"Kohaku, I'm your older sister; Sango," Sango murmured, a tear flowing down her cheek. Kohaku frowned.

"I'm sorry, but, I don't remember you."

"Guys, we should find somewhere safe," you broke in, looking up at the sky.

"What are you looking for Y/n?" Miroku asked.

"This has Naraku's name written all over it," you muttered, finally seeing the small figures of the Saimyosho. Inuyasha noticed them as well and growled.

"Come on guys!" Inuyasha snapped. And with that, all of you went off to find a place to hide.
