Chapter 4: Jamil's Overblot and Past Life

Athena's POV

I raise my hand to stop the madness in slow motion. In the end, my mind and body feel slightly numb while my vision feel a little hazy. The aura forming around me stop and drop to my knees, hearing ink droplets echoed continuously in my ears. Why do I feel numb all the sudden? Was this related to her by any chance? I shook my head. It's not the time to answer those questions. I close my eyes, take a couple of breaths, and open them. My visions adjusted until they're back to normal. The sky became filled with red light, drowning everything in a sea blood red filter.

Looking at Jamil where he stand, his skin became a deathly pale gray, eyes full of insanity. A red cold shoulder robe, with several articles of gold accents and jewelry, with a black turban and a jeweled red feather as the centerpiece. Hands drenched in sticky black ink, and a cape of red and black billowed in the rushing wind. Black flats with two thin line black straps crisscross his legs and five dark red jewels from his feet to high torso in a straight line in between. His left eye ablaze in red, a collar of black leather in a T-shaped cross wrapped around his neck. What was terrifying me the most was his hair: the ends in the shapes of snakes' heads, their eyes and tongues flickering dangerously red. This time, the figure isn't behind Jamil anymore.

Great... another Overblot. A fourth one to be exact. Dealing with three Overblots for the past semester already took a toll. Now, Jamil is the fourth person to be added to the Overblot list. I'm crying in pain because we have to deal with another one. "What the?! What's happened to Jamil?" Kalim shook to his core to see Jamil in that state. Aiolos furrow his brows at the sight, knew it's an Overblot form like the previous three. "The very air around us has been warped. This is the same as what happened to Azul...!!" Jade grimaced. My source of peace and quiet has been deleted before my own eyes. The 'Why am I still here, just to suffer?' meme is playing in my mind. "Overblot!!" Azul spat. "We can't hope for reinforcements during winter vacation, this is really not good." Calling for backup is impossible. Getting them here to deal with Overblot Jamil will take hours to arrive. By the time they get here, we're already doomed. During Leona and Riddle's Overblot, there were backup because there's staffs on campus but manage to defeat them before they arrived. I stand up to my feet.

"That guy's gone full 'evil berserker mode'?!" Grim was shaking behind me. "He's overflowing with blot and negative energy... everyone, here he comes!!" Azul instructed. The Leech twin whip out their magic pen. Azul and Kalim whip out their magic staff. "Well, let's settle this... I'm done living like this." Jamil roars. Azul, Kalim, and Leech twin get into position. They point their pen and staff at the target. "We have to bring him back to his senses... the moment he runs out of magic, he's done for." Azul readied. The trio nod. "Gyaaaah, that monster's huge and scary, y'know!!" Grim ducked. Guess he's afraid to fight a fourth Overblot student. Right now, he needs to focus on getting him back to normal. If not, his life will be endanger. "Jamil!! Please. Come back to yourself!!" Kalim begged.

But Jamil's eyes weren't focused of them. Instead, he was focused on me. The Overblot form thrust its hand forward. The dark figure, who's inside the blotted monster, assist him by using some sort of telekinesis. My body was paralyzed as I float in the air, eyes widen. Aiolos immediately notice and charge in. Unfortunately, he was too late to rescue me and I was pull towards them against my will. Aiolos skid to a stop and look in a worried state. "Lady Athena!!" My spirit gasp in a worried tone. Now, I'm in the monster's grasp. The hand wrap on my body. I squirm to escape but the grip is strong. The others saw me in the monster's hand. "Athena!!" Kalim shouted. Azul's expression changed. "Release her!!" Azul commanded.

"Release her?" Jamil smirked. "I would never release her!! She belongs to him!!" This forces Azul and the Leech twins to dish out their magic at Jamil. In return, he block their attacks in one swoop and fire back. At this moment, Aiolos cannot interfere because there's a high chance of Jamil harming me in the process. Even if he use telekinesis, which he isn't too fond of using it, the end results would be troublesome. Interestingly enough, Aiolos wonder what the vice dorm is referring to but couldn't pinpoint exactly who. But moments ago, he did felt a dark aura before Jamil Overblot. During the Magift Tournament, everyone felt the same dark aura but instantly disappeared before they could investigate. He furrow his brows. *Could it be him? Is he feeding Jamil all the negativity so he can Overblot?* Aiolos thought.
