Athena's POV

Cater, Jade, Grim, and I are heading to the coliseum. Cater place his hand on my shoulder. "Athena-chan, you're the only one who can bag that monster. We're counting on you," Cater said. Jade nod,"Athena-san. Our lives are in your hands." I took a deep breath as I look at the coliseum. Our plan are set in place. "My heart's pounding out of my chest..." Then I look at my friends. "But I'll do my best to win," I said. Cater and Jade nod before Jade heads to his location. The three of us soon head inside the coliseum, ready to face our enemies.

Ace, Deuce, Grim, and I are standing in our potion classroom by our desk, chatting a bit when Crewel enters the room. "Be good and sit down, puppies." All of us sat down in our seats as our teacher walk up to his desk and set his things down. "For tomorrow's traditional Night Raven College event... you must be divided into groups for 'Happy Beans Day'. To make the division fair, it will be by lottery. Come to me in order of your number," Crewel announce. Everyone are waiting for their number to be called. Grim raise a eyebrow. "Happy Beans Day? What is that?," Grim ask. He look up at Ace and Deuce. I cup my chin. "I don't remember much, but I believe it was a farmer who use a magical bean to retrieve the golden harp from the giant. Here in Night Raven College, I think this is a tradition...?," I hum. Ace look at me with a shock and surprise expression. "Athena, you don't know Happy Beans Day?," Ace ask.

I stare at Ace with 'Do you think I know everything?' look on my face. Crewel heard our conversation after he announce everyone's number and frown. "What an ignorant puppy. I suppose I, Crewel-sama, must teach you. As educating puppies is my job." I look at Crewel, sweat drop. I'm hoping he isn't going to work me to death though. " 'Happy Beans Day' is a traditional Twisted Wonderland event that occurs in February. A long time ago, there was a place in this land called 'Happiness Valley'. There's a reason the place was named 'happiness'. The naturally rich, fertile soil... and there was a magic harp with a beautiful voice. The magic harp's song brought happiness to all the people, animals... and plants that lived in the valley. However, a jealous giant monster came to the valley and stole the harp away," he explain. He shows a golden harp on the desk.

Do giants ever exist in Twisted Wonderland? If so, I wonder if they're still alive to this day. What I DO know is giants don't exist in my home world. "But the instant it was taken, the plants and people began to wilted away. Then, a farmer just happened to get his hands on some magic beans." Crewel pulls out a box and open the lid. Inside the box contain beans in it. "Those beans were the magic 'Happy Bean'!! The beanstalk that grew from the Happy Bean grew up into the sky and to the giant's home overnight. The farmer climbed up the beanstalk to recover the glorious harp. When the farmer returned he cut down the beanstalk to get rid of the giant chasing him. And with that, Happiness Valley returned to its natural richness with the magic harp's song — so the story goes. Taking back that which has been taken. Taking it back full, in fact." Crewel finish the story.

I gave the 'Oh' shape mouth. So that's how the story went. If I remember the story, it might be based off of Disney Mickey and the Beanstalk or Jack and the Beanstalk. I haven't heard of it for so long. Without him telling the story, my brain would've been fried. "I get it, that's pretty educational," Grim nod. Deuce nod and chimes in. "And since the farmer got rid of the giant with beans, that kind of exorcism has become tradition," Deuce said. Crewel smile,"Good boy. That's right." I cup my chin and mutter. "The story does sound similar to Setsubun, the beginning of spring, back home." I don't know much about the traditions back home. What I heard or researched was you throw beans at the demon to ward them away. By doing that, it brings you luck, protection, etc. My friend, who was Japanese, used to live in Japan and done this before. I'm not sure if Japan still continue with the tradition, but I hope they do to pass it down to their future generation.
