Chapter 1: What a Nightmare

Athena's POV

We arrived to our first period which is Potions. Luckily we arrived just in time before bell rang. "So you all are the fresh faces in my homeroom today. Hmm, there are some rare hair colors in the bunch. Not bad. Make sure to take care of it daily." A teacher with half black and half white hair, wearing a tuxedo with a tie, fur coat, and red gloves enters the room.

"My name is Divus Crewel. You may feel free to call me Master Crewel." Uh, I prefer to call you Professor Crewel instead of 'Master Crewel'. To call you that is somewhat uncomfortable. "Take your seats. Class will begin." We head over with our lab coats on and sat down at our lab table. I can't believe this teacher looks exactly like that Cruella from the 101 Dalmatians!! "First for the basics I will beat the names and appearances of 100 types of medicine and poison into you little brains. We'll cover fungi later." He hand out to us a paper that list 100 types of medicines and poisons. "Now memorize these so you don't go around getting poisoned by random things you eat off the ground." Now, I wouldn't do that if I were that person without doing some research or seek professional assistance.

"Dogs will eat whatever is lying around." Yup, I know dogs will eat pretty much anything lying on the floor. "Your training will be strict and I better not see any red marks on your tests." He took out some kind of stick I would say. I look at the paper to see each type. My memorization is above average, so I should be good at this. "I see. ...By the way, what's a 'fungi'?," Deuce ask. Wait a second, Deuce doesn't know what fungi is?! I look at Deuce in shock. "Hold up, did you said you don't know what a fungi is?! I thought your school taught you this!!," I whisper. Deuce look and shook his head. I can't believe this as I sigh. I explain,"Fungi is a taxonomic kingdom, or in some classification schemes a division of the kingdom Plantae, comprising all the fungus groups and sometimes also the slime molds."

Deuce gave me the looks like the information is too much for him to handle. Bro, it's kinda easy to memorize what a fungi is. I've nothing to say my friend.

"Blegh. I'm no good at memorization," Ace sigh in disgust. Grim furrow his brows. "I wonder if grass tastes good or not." I look over at the two and whisper to them. "Ace, I can help you with the memorization and Grim, grass is edible." It made the teacher notice as Crewel took out his stick and hit our table. It made a loud noise as it startled us. "You puppies are too loud!! Class has started, so pay attention," Crewel said. We gave him a nervous smile with a sweat drop. It got his attention already and continue writing down the notes.

Next period is History. I'm not good at History but my grade is decent. We sat down when the bell rang and the teacher walk in with his cat in his arms. "I'm Trein and I'm in charge of your history lessons. This is my familiar, Lucius," he introduce himself. I raise an eyebrow. *Huh, is this Trein and Lucius is the male version of the step mother from Cinderella?* I thought. Is my mind playing tricks on me or something?! The outfit and the cat does look similar to the step mother of Cinderella. "You will learn about the history of magic that has brought prosperity to the world." Lucius meow again. "Participation in class will affect your grade, not just reports themselves. I will not forgive sleeping in class."

Hehe, if I fell asleep in class, it's all over for me. Trein would end my whole career in an instant. "Open your textbooks to page 15." We took out our textbook to page 15. "We will start with the discovery of magic crystals in the Dwarfs' Mine today..." Lucius meowing once again as I sigh. "Magical energy spread throughout the world during the century after this discovery, we call it the 'Beginning of Magic'." I wrote down the notes as I heard Ace yawn beside me and elbow him. "Don't even try to fall asleep Ace. He'll get you if he sees you." Ace glare at me. "It's boring though. I would've fall asleep in seconds." I roll my eyes while Deuce read the textbook in awe. I think Deuce is interested in the history about it.
