Prologue: Getting into Trouble Again

Athena's POV

The both of us had managed to finish it before school is over. Now we had to meet up Ace at the cafeteria so we can start. "I'm already beat from cleaning all day... now we have to wash a hundred windows, too..." I look at Grim with a frown expression.

"Well, it was you and Ace that caused us to do this. You shouldn't fight in the first place, idiot. Besides, we've got no choice since you two had started the mess. Come, we should start while Ace is taking his sweet time." Grim nod and we start cleaning the windows. I grab a rag, spray bottle, and spray on the window and wipe that down. I continue with it and finished one of the window before looking down the hall. Damn, I hate these huge windows, but cleaning must be done. We continue on meanwhile Grim doesn't like the fact that he has to wait. So far, we only clean ten windows in one hour which isn't that bad but it's a long way to go. The fur ball can't take it anymore since we began cleaning those windows. I wonder where the heck did Ace go anyway? He should've been here already since the two of us is impossible to clean all of these windows if he was here.

"I don't care what happened, this is too late!!," Grim yell in frustration,"wait, he wouldn't just skip out, right!!" When he mention it, I notice that Ace ain't coming to help out. Ah crap, this ain't good. "Let's go find him. I think he should be in his classroom," I said. "I'm not gonna let him get away with putting all the punishment on us!! Let's go henchman!!," he beckon,"we're gonna catch Ace and make him do all the window washing!!" We head to the classroom I think he attends to and barged in like maniacs. "Where's Ace?! We're not gonna let you hide away!!" It looks like no one is in the classroom. Well, it's over and I'm certain everyone is going back to their dorms.

"...Ah, there's nobody here?!"

"No, I'm here," a random voice spoke. Hearing that voice made me jumped a bit and look over at a portrait. "Ffgyaa!! The picture talked!!," he scream. I've never seen a portrait talked before. "What now? It's not uncommon for paintings to talk at this school." The portrait notice me in the room and I nervously wave. "A young girl. I haven't seen you before. What's your name?," it said.

"Names Athena, Athena Takahashi. It's nice to meet you, um..." "I'm Wall Portrait, over there is Wall Lady, the Wall Gentleman over here." I gave a warm smile, at least they're not mean in a bad way. "Oh my, I'm not lonely anymore. It's great to have another female in the school," the Wall Lady smile. "Well, at least you can chat all day with her," the Wall Gentleman said. Well, I can't believe I'm listening to portraits that can actually talk. "Portraits can speak because they have a mouth. That's normal you know?," Wall Portrait said. "Normally, paintings in my world don't speak at all. They're more of a decoration than chitchatting unlike you guys, not here to disrespect you," I said. "Your 'normal' and my 'normal' differ in regards to our quirks.

Isn't that true?" You can say that I guess, but I didn't want to further disrespect them. "By the way, who are you looking for?," Wall Lady said. "A guy named Ace. He's got a heart mark on his face and hair that sticks up," Grim describes it. Wall Portrait recognize the description. "Ahh, I know him," Wall Portrait said,"he's one of the freshman that started today. He went back to his dorm not too long ago..." Yup, I had this gut feeling he's gonna dipped the dirty work and it ain't good. "What!! So he did try to get away!!," he growl,"which way did he go?" "The entrance is behind the East Building," she said. The Wall Lady did provide us the location which is great to know. "Hey!! We're going after him!!"

We head out of the classroom. Before I leave, I stop and bow. "Thank you very much. I will see you guys again." I wave with a smile and follow Grim to the East Building.

Once our footsteps fading away, the Wall Lady smile. "That girl is very nice and polite. Gladly we met her today." Wall Gentleman agree,"I'm glad as well. She's such an innocent, pure child from her looks and kindness. Am I right, Wall Portrait?" Wall Portrait nod in agreement. "Of course. No boys in the school should make fun of this girl. Her name is Athena and we should remember her name," Wall Portrait said,"we'll see her again in the near future."
