"Better luck next time na lang, Angel," said my classmate who was also my teammate during the Science Quiz Bee. "Matalino mga taga Prep School e."
I shook my head in disbelief. "No! There must be a mistake!"
I looked at our scores. The top 1 had a perfect score of 50 and mine was 49. Just a point difference!
Some girl with short hair and eyeglasses went to look at the board as well. May sumusunod din sa kanyang nerd na lalaki.
I mean, not to be judgemental but he looks like those typical wimpy kid. He had Harry Potter glasses, braces and he was so thin that he looked like he could get blown away by the wind.
"Hey, Blaze, you're top 1!" announced the girl. "Whoah! Miss was right! You really do great in Science."
The boy laughed. It was the most annoying laugh I have ever heard. "Not really. Katherine would still have done a lot better."
Then, they kept on talking...
So, this is the guy who placed me second? What was his name again?
