"Ready?"
I snapped out of staring at my gorgeous self in the mirror after hearing Blaze. He is facing away from the mirrors while stretching his goddamn biceps.
"Ha?" I asked. Di ko kasi narinig.
He turned to me and smirked. "Sabi nga ni Korina Sanchez, handa na ba kayo?" sabi sabay cross ng arms niya.
I rolled my eyes at how corny the joke was. "Ayusin mo nga jokes mo. Kung hindi science jokes, corny naman."
He dramatically gasped. "Grabe ka naman. Dami nga tumatawa nun eh."
"Ayaw lang nilang sumama loob mo sa kanila."
"Ikaw ba? Gusto mong masama loob mo sa akin?"
"Wala akong pakialam."
"Ouch."
Natawa ako. Parang bata talaga minsan ang gagong 'to. "Lika na nga. Lapit na matatapos ang araw. We only have a few hours left before the contest. And hindi pa tayo nangangalahati."
"Yes, maam!"
We just started to practice the choreography we were about to dance sa contest. The song is Fire on Fire by Sam Smith. Don't get me wrong the choreo is cool. But it's the fact na I really have to freaking use my core strength and flexibility para makasayaw. Usually kasi basta choreo ni Gabe, it's just my stamina.
I didn't even know Gabe can actually do contemporary. Akala ko hiphop and ballroom dances lang ginagawa niya. Sabi niya pang hindi naman daw mahirap iyong nagawa niyang choreo. Nasa medium level daw. Edi wow sa kanya.
And Blaze isn't any different. He agreed almost immediately that we'd do it after watching the routine. I mean, he probably agreed because it's his expertise—ballet and contemporary dance. I think he can also do the lifts.
I mean, look at those guns.
"Basta if you're uncomfortable, just tell me," he reminded. "We can change some things. I asked permission."
"I don't mind, really," sabi ko naman. "Mas magiging uncomfortable ata iyong mga matatanda."
He grinned. "Asus. Gusto mo lang akong mahawakan eh."
I gave him a side eye. "Asa ka naman."
He chuckled before switching into his dance captain mode or something. Iyong mukha ng mga main dancers ng Kpop groups kapag nagtuturo ng dance moves. He goes from a big puppy to a lion.
We started with the counting. I had already memorized the steps but I haven't really applied it with a partner.
The counts started from 1 to 8 until it just became a series of "tan-tan, zoom, swoosh, tagadag" and some sounds that goes well with the moves. Not gonna lie I think most choreographers, and even dancers, do this kind of counting.
Plus, it's cute of him despite the creases on his forehead.
We got to the point na kailangan kong tumalon papunta sa kanya. I had to place one of my legs over his shoulder and other just around his waist.
"Can you do it?" asked Blaze, looking concerned.
"Of course I can," I rolled my eyes. "Wait lang. I'm not sure how to do it."
"I can help you naman."
"Yeah, right."
Huminga muna ako nang malalim. "Here I go." Tumakbo ako papunta sa kanya. Out of fear of not doing it well, hindi ako nakatalon. "Ah, fuck!"
