Spencer James

"What the hell is goin' on?" Spencer approached Lauren who had been standing in Chyna's driveway. Chyna's home had been surrounded by emergency services and he began to get worried. Lauren handed Angel to Spencer and then wiped the tears from her eyes.

"I got here and Angel had been sitting on the porch" Lauren said as she watched Spencer peck his daughter's forehead. 

"By herself?" Spencer questioned and Lauren nodded her head.

"I went inside and..." Lauren choked up on her words. "Chyna...she wasn't breathing" she continued and Spencer's face dropped.

"What do you mean she wasn't breathing? Is she alright?" Spencer inquired as he glanced at Chyna's front door. "I've got to see what's going on" he said as he began to walk past Lauren.

"Spencer!" Lauren stepped in front of him. "You...you can't go in there" she said as tears streamed down her face.

"You've got to move alright, Lo? I've got the baby in my arms and you in my way. My child's mom is in there" Spencer said as he attempted to move ahead of her.

"You can't-"

"Lauren..." Spencer said in a calm tone. "I...I need you to move, p-please" his voice slightly cracked as he realized what she'd been trying to stop him from seeing.

"Spencer..." Lauren said just above a whisper.

"I...I know" Spencer felt his stomach drop. He couldn't believe any of it.

"I'm...I'm so-sorry" Lauren buried her face into her hands. 

"Wh-what happened?" Spencer inquired as tears cascaded down his cheeks.

"She called and said she needed me to babysit, which I thought was weird because you normally pick Angel up on Thursday. I came here and the baby had been out on the porch-"

"Angel straight, right?" Spencer questioned as he pecked Angel's forehead.

"She's fine, Spencer" Lauren assured and Spencer nodded his head. "I...I went inside and Chyna wasn't breathing. Th-there was blood near her mouth and-" she paused as she kept replaying the image in her head.

Spencer shut his as Lauren continued to tell the story.

"They're sayin she might have OD'd" Lauren said as she wiped her tears away.

"I don't believe that shit, Lo" Spencer said as his vision became blurry. "She wouldn't do this to Angel" he wiped his cheeks with the back of his hand.

Lauren buried her face in her hands again and cried uncontrollably. Spencer used his free arm to pull her in for a hug. The two of them sobbed together as they grieved the loss of their friend. Spencer held onto Angel as tight as he could, heartbroken that she would no longer have her father in her life.

"I love you so much, baby girl" Spencer whispered as he rubbed his daughter's back. Angel stared at her father and she noticed his sad facial expression. "I've got to call Liv, Lauren. I'ma need you to hold her" Spencer said as he handed Angel to her.

Spencer walked out of Chyna's driveway as he tried to process what he just heard. He pulled his phone from his pocket and dialed Olivia's phone number.
