Spencer James

•two weeks later•

"I'm glad you called, Spence" Sean hugged his childhood friend and then kneeled in front of Angel. "I can't believe she's one, man. My little niecey weicy!" he smiled as he tickled Angel's little tummy, earning a laugh from the birthday girl.

"I figured we'd stop by here before we head to Liv's" Spencer smiled at Sean and Angel interacting with one another. "It feels like it was yesterday when I found out about having a daughter at the hospital" he said as he recalled the pivotal memory.

•flashback•

"I planned to abort her, honestly. Our relationship had just ended. And though we were still seeing each other, I knew she wouldn't fix us. You were knee deep in the streets and I was young..." Chyna started to explain. "And then I heard her heartbeat and fell in love. I couldn't get you out of the streets and I didn't have faith a child could. I wanted the best for my daughter and I, so I left town" she continued.

"So why are you tellin' me this now?" Spencer inquired.

"I want my daughter to have her father in her life, Spencer" Chyna answered truthfully. "Jay told me you were in a bad accident and-"

"The fuck he callin' you for?" Spencer interrupted her.

"Let's not act like the three of us weren't close years ago. He told me you were in an accident and I just had to let you know. I wouldn't have forgave myself if you transitioned and didn't get to meet our daughter" she continued.

"What's her name?" Spencer questioned as he held the infant in his arms.

"Angel. Angel Marie James" Chyna cooed at their daughter.

"Marie is my moms name" Spencer smiled and looked at Chyna.

"I know..." Chyna also smiled at him. "I knew how much she meant to you, from previous conversations we've had. I wanted to honor your mother's life and what she stood for" she continued.

•flashback over•

"You aight, Spence?" Sean questioned as he noticed how quiet he'd been.

"I'm good" Spencer answered as he cleared his throat.

"Life moves hella fast, hm" Sean mentioned and Spencer agreed. "Angel's starting to look like her mama" he continued and Spencer shook his head.

"Now you know Angel twinnin' with her Pops" Spencer said as he kneeled next to Angel and put his face next to hers. "On hood you can't tell me she ain't me" he pointed between their faces.

"Aight you got a point" Sean chuckled as he watched Spencer stand back up. "But let's not deny it, you know you see her moms in there too" he mentioned and Spencer shrugged.

"What up, what up!" Nae approached the three of them with a smile on her face. She threw up the set and Spencer chuckled at his childhood friend.

"Nae you know I don't do that no more" Spencer hugged her.

"Don't act like you ain't still with the get down. You gon' always rep" she laughed as she pulled away from him. "Hi Angel!" she waved at the one year old.

"Hi" Angel gushed and ran into her aunt's legs. Nae gently rubbed on her back and Spencer smiled at their interaction.

"I was surprised when Sean told me you wanted to meet this morning" Nae said as she glanced at Spencer. "I thought he'd been joking" she chuckled and Spencer shook his head 'no'.
