Spencer James

•one week later•

"How was the orientation for the mediation session?" Olivia inquired as she and Spencer had been on the phone.

"It was informative, I'm glad I went. I've got all the information I need for the mediation session with Des" Spencer answered as he drove through the streets of Los Angeles. "It's crazy this shit is even happening, Liv. I've got to attend a mediation session with my daughter's aunt, who I know barely know, and come up with an agreement that works for the both of us" he sighed as he stopped at the red light.

"I know it's not an ideal situation" Olivia frowned. "Have you thought about what you might propose?" she questioned.

"I haven't, Liv. I don't want joint custody. I don't want to go through any of this bullshit. I shouldn't have to fight for my daughter to be with me" Spencer stated and Olivia listened. "And to think there is a possibly she won't be in my full care and we'll have to discuss visitation rights is beyond me" he continued.

"I mean what could she possibly try to argue? You haven't neglected nor abused Angel. Her safety has always been a main priority for you, even when you were experiencing your troubles. She was either with her mom or your Pops" Olivia mentioned. "Besides, the chances of a third party getting full custody or legal rights of a child is pretty low" she stated.

"All of that is true, but we also don't know what Chyna was telling Des about me before I knew about Angel. Hell, even after I knew about Angel and after I got involved. We weren't on good terms until...before she passed...so who knows with this shit" Spencer sighed in frustration, accelerating as the light turned green. "I'm sorry about all of this, Liv" he mentioned.

"What are you apologizing for? It's not your fault" Olivia furrowed her eyebrows. She hated that he blamed himself for situations that were out of his control.

"I know it's not but I know it can be frustrating to deal with, it's always somethin'" Spencer frowned. "And this was not how I planned on spending the morning of our anniversary" he continued.

"Well lucky for the both of us, it only took about an hour" Olivia mentioned and Spencer chuckled. "Sometimes things in life don't go as planned and that's okay. I do want you to get home so we can start our day though" she continued.

"I'ma be there in thirty minutes. I'ma stop by the shop first and then I'll head that way" Spencer told her. "That's aight with you?" he inquired.

"That's fine with me. I'm just adding the final touches to my makeup" Olivia said as placed on her makeup. "I'll see you in thirty" she said and Spencer then ended their conversation.

Spencer then turned into the parking lot of his shop, his eyes widening as he parked right in front. He immediately pulled his phone out, searching for Khalil's contact information.

"Hello?" Khalil answered after a few rings.

"You think you can get to the shop right now?" Spencer questioned. "Them niggas tagged my shit up, Khalil!" he practically yelled.

"Wait, what?!" Khalil's eyes widened. "I'm on my way!" he hung up the phone.

Spencer stepped out of his car, shaking his head at the graffiti on the building. He took a few photos of the tagging, sending the images to both Khalil and Sean. He thought about the tagging he'd done back in his days, frustrated that he'd even partaking in such acts.

"Damn they fucked yo shit up cuz" Khalil shook his head as he stood next to Spencer. "This is going to take more than just a trip to Home Depot and graffiti remover" he said.
