Week 240 - Wraith's Mind

I've been doing my meditation and yoga again! Today was all about being appreciative. When asked to visualize someone that makes me happy, it didn't actually say a person. So, I used Wraith, our pup, who was curled up next to me. Then I took this one step further and became him!

Oh yeah, you know where this is going... a poem dedicated to my furry friend. Perhaps these are some things that he thinks about?

Wraith's Mind

I sat facing the steel bowl

Waiting for Mom to refill

Tepid water unacceptable

When frig-filtered loses it's chill

So many comfortable spots

To park a weary derrière

You abandon yours for a tea break

Now I stealthily steal there

Sunday is YOUR cleaning day

My laundry sits in a pile

Blankets, rugs, and toys

Loads full of every textile

My walking lead hangs in the closet

To the right of my fanny pack

Above my stock of moose antlers

To the left of my milk chew of yak

Longingly gaze at toy basket

Nothing new for weeks

When will a package arrive

I've eviscerated all that squeaks

An afternoon potty break

I'll make this real quick

The potty part that is

Not the sniffing of the bucolic

The instant-pot is readied

A pork roast from grocery store

Took you long enough to get the hint

Didn't want chicken breast anymore

Walking through the neighborhood

The aroma of fresh poo stewing

Mom appears upset at our find

Cursing the neighbors wrongdoing

Car rides are not my favorite

Moms bought me plenty of things

A dog ramp, padded seat cover,

Even two more fans for outings

My treats cupboard is stocked

Please properly dispense more

Healthy snacks keep me going

And cement our family's rapport

This is my canine centric home

It's littered with all of my things

I'll allow you an extended visit

And perhaps share my furnishings
