Even when it is an exciting time, moving to a foreign country is always stressful. There is so much to learn. Language barriers, daily routine changes, money conversions, medical differences, various driving conditions, weather adaptations. The good and the bad...
American in Germany
Want to neu kaufen vehicle
For this I need German bank
Credit cards aren't accepted
Is this a country wide prank
Milk disappeared on Saturday
Necessity for morning tea
Stores are geschlossen Sundays
The whole day is cuppa free
What are you saying to me
Ich versuche to understand
Slowly learning the language
This is not my motherland
How much does that car kosten
The amount is a great price
Then remember it's in euro
Against dollar must think twice
Need to find doctors and dentist
While also procuring pet vet
Local krankenhaus and clinic
Placement of border vignette
The autobahn has extremes
From staus to limitless speed
Putter along in slow lane
Intimidated, now concede
Weather is not predictable
Morning sun rays are warming
An umbrella always at hand
Noon brings chill, regen, and storming
Grocery stores are begrenzt
Not American mega-sized
Miss many specialty products
Substitutions utilized
Convenient Zuge link country
Eliminate stressful driving
Travel becomes enjoyable
On time I'll be arriving
Bakeries make my heart race
Aroma of fresh baked brot
Sweet and savory compete
One each only antidote
Traverse countless well trodden trails
Inquisitive hund sniffs ahead
Kilometers of forest
Will slumber soundly in bed
Fun festivals are endless
Friends, family, food, wines, and bier
Mehr outdoor activities
Booths filled with holiday cheer
Prevalent feeling of safety
Anxieties slip away
Langsam down life's wicked pace
To live another grateful day
