Chapter 21 - Building & Re-Building Foundations

Suni (Teyana's Father) POV

"So you going to talk to her for me?" I asked her and she shook her head no.

"You know how stubborn she is, and you aren't making it easier by being mischievous and malicious towards her relationship with Jermaine" she told "he's such a good good boy, he takes care of her and his child"

"You know how dumb you sound? His child?" She shot her head up and gave me this look. She sighed deeply and shook her head with shame.

"If you ask her questions sometimes and fucking listen to her, he's adopting him because his brother is in jail and the baby's mother ran off"

I ain't going to sit up here and lie, saying I didn't regret thinking wrong about about the baby. Truthfully I missed my babygirl. That shit she said to me not so long along almost killed me. Her and her mother are the only ones that can hurt me deeply.

"I miss you" I told her and she dropped the dishes in the sink.

"Please can you go now, you wanted to talk about your daughter and we did"

"I said family" I said ashing my Jay and laying it on the table.

"Well it's too late for that isn't it" she said and I got up and walked over to her. She cut the water off and backed up.

"Why you acting like that?"

"We're divorced Isiaiah"

"That little paper shit! It's a piece of paper" I told her

"Yeah and you signed it! It's in black and white"

"I don't give a fuck if it's in yellow and purple, you still the love of my life Michelay and I wouldn't tell that to anyone" I told her and grabbed a water out the fridge.

"Why you in my fridge, getting my shit"

"Because what's mine is yours, and what's yours is mines" I told and she rolled her eyes. My daughter and her mother are the same person. The eye rolling and stubborn attitudes.

"Anyways, so what are you going to do?" She asked

"I'm going to talk to Cole" I told her

"You think he wouldn't tell her?"

"Nah he wouldn't" I told her "and it's benefitting him as well so I doubt it"

"What do you mean?" She questioned

"I'm going to ask him to start selling for me again, he brought in a lot of money" I started reminiscing.

"This is your fucking problem now, you so goddamn money hungry all the time! You don't see what's in front of you" she yelled sternly " this is why you can't love correctly because you don't know how. That boy wouldn't dare give up on her for a couple of drops"

"Yeah we will see"

"Just think at one point, we were madly in love. I don't know what happened to you but I'm glad to say that I let you go when I did" she said and I could see her getting angry "antagonizing them and their relationship is not going to work, she probably too young to notice but their foundation is strong and your dumbass should know that only the people that built it can break it"

She dropped everything out of her hands and left the kitchen. I sat there quiet. I heard her travel up the stairs and turned the lights off.

I grabbed a glass and pulled some Dussé in my glass. I sat back down and waited to see if she would come back downstairs. she didn't so I finished my glass.
