Chp.4 - come take care of me

Jermaine POV

"Hey Jermaine" my mother spoke and I brought her into my arms and hugged her. She let go and she wasn't tense anymore. This was ten steps a head for us because she let me hug her.

"mommy I missed you" I said and she rubbed my back. It felt good to have her hold me after so long.

"I missed you more" she said and the feeling of something wet on chest made me afraid to look down.

"Mommy are you crying?" I said and she nodded "mommy don't cry"

It's been a while since I seen my mother. I couldn't face her because I was still doing something I knew she didn't want me to do. During that time I had to do for myself. All I could remember is her telling me 'you are a grown man, you need to go see what life really is'. She put me out on the street and I know it hurt her deeply but I pulled my last straw by testing the waters.

She looked up at me and wiped her tears on her apron. It kills me inside to see her like this. I wished that I had more time to be with her. She looked away and turned back around to finish cooking. I grabbed her arm and looked at her. I picked up my hand and wiped her lone tears.

"I love you ma" I said and she smiled then wiped her face.

"I love you more" she said. I nodded and I watched Amir play in the living room from the kitchen. Amir was my four year old brother. I know you wondering how could I have a four year old brother, but it's a long story that I'm choosing not to explain. No matter what I love him.

I walked out the kitchen and walked to go sit by him. He smiled.

"Wassup Amir" I said and he smiled then hugged me.

"I missed you" he said and I hugged him back.

"I missed you too" I said "did you like your presents?"

"Yes" he said. I played with him for a minute and the whole time he smiled. Then I walked over to my grandmother and cousins.

" how is my baby?" My grandmother spoke.

"What's up grandma" I said as I kissed her cheek. My grandmother basically raised us because my mother worked 4 jobs to make ends meet.

"Who is this new girl that I am hearing about?" My cousin Tony said and I looked at him. I made this face and my grandmother grabbed my face.

"You didn't tell me?" She spoke

"She isn't my girlfriend" I said.

"Another little thing running around and you messing with her" my aunt spoke.

"nah she isn't like, she got a head on her shoulders and she's a virgin. I respect that and her wishes" I said and they gasped.

"Is little JJ settling down" they all laughed.

"How old is she?" My cousin Anna said and I shook my leg. Teyana is young and I am going to be 20 this January. It doesn't bother me that she is but I know it will bother her family and maybe her.

"17" I said lowly.

"She's a baby" my grandmother joked.

"You robbing the cradle" Oscar said and I shook my head no.

"It's not like that" I said

"I want to meet her" they said in unison.

"Grace knows her" I said pointing to my younger cousin. She went to school with Teyana. They're the same age. She always told me that we should of been together. To be honest Grace and Teyana used to be really cool but she never told me what happened between them. She still adores her though.
