Chapter 10 - Across my heart

Teyana POV

"Why wouldn't he be?" I spoke and my father wrinkled his forehead. I did the same and looked at him waiting for a answer. My mother soon after repeated me, hoping for a answer sooner.

"Daddy how do you know him?" I said and J clinched at the word 'daddy'. I looked at him then my father and noticed something was going on. "Wait a second"

"Cole come here" my father said and J hesitated then stood up. He walked over to my father "hold on, I need t ask him something and I have known him for a while now"

They walked to the back hallway and I nervously started to bite my bottom lip.

"I'm sure it's nothing" my mother said unsurely.

"Or not" I spoke

Jermaine POV

"How the fuck you know my daughter"

"So your daughter huh?" I said

"Don't try it" he warned me.

"She doesn't know does she?" I got comfortable in my seat. I felt like he didn't have nothing on me. I have been completely honest with Teyana since we met.

"This isn't going to work" he chuckled "you guys can't date or talk"

"Fuck you mean! We can't date or talk"

"You can't date my daughter" he laughed hysterically.

"why?" I said

"Your too old for her and you work for me"

"But I'm quitting and she's graduating high school" i straightened up. "You going to tell her about you being one of the biggest drug lords on the eastcoast"

"Watch your mouth in this house" he snapped.

" oh so you aren't going to tell her?" I questioned.

"Why does it matter?" He questioned.

"Because if the truth is coming out then I should let her know what's really up"

" word?" He said and I nodded " you really got balls you know"

He stood up and walked around the table and paced.

"you come up in here and then cause all this commotion"

"Look, I didn't want to disappoint her and not come. Losing Teyana is more important than anything at this point. Do you know how stubborn she is? Imagine not coming and having to make up a lie. She catches lies quick. It would take me forever to get back at this point" I spoke honesty "but I think you know that"

I was getting hype just imagining if I had to stop fucking with her. I don't think he understands how long it took me to get this point. Matterfact I don't think he cares.

"I don't give a damn! To be honest" he laughed "you don't deserve my daughter! I let her date one nigga he stabbed me in my back by hurting her. Now I got my niggas for that nigga"

"I'm not Tim" I said as I became mad " I was just as mad as you. I knew this nigga didn't deserve her. I could of told you that"

"Look I'm not trying to negotiate anything with you because I have already determine that you will not be dating my daughter" he told me and I looked away. My nose started to flare and I was clinching my words. I was getting fucking heated. "J I know you, you're crazy, do she know how crazy you are?"

"I'm not like that no more" I said

"Yeah right" he said and I breathed deep. I inhaled in tell I couldn't anymore and then exhaled. "Look I'm helping you out alright"

"Man fuck you" I said and then he walked in front of me. I don't know what it was that made me think this but my mother always told me fight for what you want and I was doing that. No matter what I was going to fix this.

"Get out!" He spoke and I looked at him to see if he was serious and he was. "Get out!"

I got up, pulling up my pants and walking to the door.

"And if you tell her" he paused then laughed "you must don't want your life"

I walked out the door into the room where Teyana was sitting with her mother. I walked down and she instantly shot up to come talk to me.

"What's wrong?" She spoke and I tried to snatch out her grip and she just followed me. I walked to the door and her father tried to stop her as walked outside with me. "What did he say to you"

I was walking down the stairs as she followed.

"FUCKING TALK TO ME!" She screamed and she startled me with the tears in her throat. I could easily see that frustration causes her to become emotional. This doesn't happen frequently but when it does I always thank god above that it doesn't.

"Look I need to think alright" I said and I grabbed her in my arms and she wrapped her arms around my waist. I wrapped my arms around her neck. "He doesn't want us to see each other anymore"

She breathed hard and I held her tighter. Her fingers latched in my jacket.

"so what" she said

"Nah Teyana he's serious, I will figure something out okay"

"J he's not going to do nothing" she spoke into my chest then moved away.

"look it's much deeper and he has a lot of power and in order for this to work out we have to part for a minute"

"What do you mean?" She backed up and crossed her arms across her chest. She became angry. Her nose was red as the cold blew her hair in the air.

"Look I need you to go in the house, it's cold out here and you don't have a coat on"

"J I'm going home with you" she spoke and as much as I wanted to say come on. I just needed to think and figure out how I'm going to figure out what I need to do to keep her.

"Come here" I said and she walked in my embrace and intertwined her arms in mine. She looked and I dropped my head. I kissed her lips three times then the last time was deep and passionate.

"You picking me up from school Monday?" She said and I laughed.

"Look I will tell you to meet me somewhere"

"Now we got this Romeo and Juliet thing going on" she joked and I kissed her cheek.

"Whatever for my Juliet"

"Whatever for my Clyde" she said " or Romeo"

"Or my Bonnie" I replied back and she smiled. Even though I wanted to be so fucking mad right now; her smile was the only thing that kept me together.

We stood for a minute in comfortable silence in till she came running in my arms full force. I grabbed her and that's when I knew it hit her.

"I can't fake smile anymore J, this is so fucked up" she spoke in my chest.

"Look I know but I will not let you go this time"

"but you are" she spoke

"Teyana get your ass in here!" Her father yelled out the house "about to make me kill this nigga"

Her mother pulled him back into the house.

"I can't let go"

"But your father"

"Fuck him" she said and she kissed my lips and held my face. Nothing makes me more warm in the cold then her. "Be safe"

"You too" I told her " and I will see you later"

"You promise?"

"Across my heart or I shall die" I told her as we locked fingers and I pulled her into another hug.

"ok" she then she walked away without looking back. She dropped her head as she walked to the door. I wanted to grab her and runaway with her but I can't.
