Chapter 40 - To My Muse, You Are...

"Um I'm here for Amir" I spoke and she turned around smiling at me. She looked surprised though and lead me the way through the colorful hallways and little cubbies.

"He looks just like you" she spoke and in my mind I giggled. Amir could pass for my biological son especially mixed with Jermaine.

"Thank you" I spoke as I followed her to a room.

For the past week I have actually settled and put my past thoughts behind me about becoming a mother and everything. It's like I was the only one really bugging off of the whole thing. I really didn't notice how happy I feel taking care of him. His unconditional love is like no other. That's my baby. He deserves everything happy and more. Including my love and a mother.

I walked in and he was leaning on his hand. Basically falling over about to go to sleep. He had a cheese it in his hand but couldn't eat it because his eyes were so low. I laughed then she smiled at me. He was swaying over about to drop that big head to the table.

"He had a really good day today, but he's tired. we had a busy field trip today"

"Oh okay, then he will have a good night sleep tonight"

"You sleepy" I asked him and he didn't even look up. He just shook his head no and continued to close this eyes. He was really fighting this sleep.

"Amir! amir" I walked over to him tapping him "come on"

"Hi Amir's mommy" two little boys said and I smiled waving at them. Amir shot up at my name and I squatted low. He looked relieved to finally get home and get some real sleep.

"Hi mommy" he said wrapping his little arms around my neck.

I smiled. Still being a little surprised to hear him call me 'mommy' or 'ma'. My heart still smiles and feels with joy.

At first I didn't know what to reply with. The first time he called me 'mommy' I hesitated and that caused him to cover his mouth like he was in the wrong. It was almost like he was embarrassed that it slipped. But he shouldn't have I was just so surprised that he did. I just smiled and continued conversation with him letting him know it was alright. Since then I'm no longer Teyana, I'm Mommy.

I remember looking to Jermaine and saying "I think he just called me mommy", I was scared to say just in case of a busted bubble but he agreed and welcomed in the family with replying with "he sure did." My heart melted in a puddle and I drowned in the magic of the moment.

It's like for him it was a breath of fresh air because when Mommy rolls off his tongue it always leave him with a smile in return. This is what it feels like to have someone call you mommy? Oh I never would of thought my name would sound so sweet. Now I love hearing him say it. I get it on his nerves just to hear him it say it over and over again. It's the sweetest feeling I have ever known.

"Hi baby" I said kissing his ear. I wrapped my arms around him.

"Amir see you tomorrow" his teacher spoke as I grabbed his backpack and lunchbox. He waved slowly at her. We left and I made my way to my car. I didn't even make it to the car before I heard Amir's little snores in my ear.

I strapped him in his seat and got in my seat. I started the car. I hooked my phone up to the car and called Jermaine.

"Was Good Shawty"

"Wassup" I said pulling off

"Damn it's quiet in there" he laughed as I heard the many voices of the studio.
