~Scarlet's point of view~

It was the day. The day I had to leave the most wonderful place on earth. My aunt tried to convince my parents to stay but my dad refused, I said goodbye to Cherry, my aunt, and my uncle. Rose was pissed at me because we were leaving, she never got to make a move on Ponyboy so now she's mad at me. We got a taxi and made it to the airport, we were about to go through the gate when suddenly I heard Sodapop's voice, "Scarlet! Wait please don't leave." He ran up to me, "Sodapop!?!? What are you doing here?", "I wanted to say goodbye one last time", "Awee your so sweet." I brought him closer to me and our lips immediately attached, my dad looked over my way, "C'mon Scarlet it's our turn-Scarlet? What the hell is this?", "He came to say goodbye one last time", "This is your..boyfriend?", "Uh yeah." He looked like he had just seen a ghost, "Dad what's wrong", "I know his dad", "What? That's impossible his parents passed away a little while ago and you grew up in Cali", "No Scarlet...I grew up here in Oklahoma", "What? You told me that when you were 18 grandma and grandpa moved here but y'all always lived in Cali." My dad looked at me ashamed, "We're you lying?", "yeah..when I was a little boy I was raised here in Oklahoma, when I was about your age I got into a big fight with my parents and I ran away to California", "You left Grandma and Grandpa at the age of 16", "Yeah..they reached out to me later on and I saw them after I married your mother..and than I saw them once when you were born..and just last week I saw them again." It totally made sense now, my dad was afraid of loosing me so that's why he's so protective...but I still don't get how he knows Soda's dad. "How do you know Soda's dad?", "Oh Darell! Darell and I go way back, we used to be bestfriends...than when I moved we never saw each other again", Sodapop looked at my father curiously, "Sir how did you know he was my father?", "You have his eyes. Darell always had those light blue eyes...I could never mistake them for anyone else's. How's your brother Darry doing?", "Oh uh he's good...he's been working", "Nice! How's that little brother doing...ponyboy", "Oh he's well, if you don't mind me asking how do you know their names?", "Well after I left Oklahoma your dad and I would write to each other every day and he would tell me everything about his boys..and how proud he was of them and how grateful he was..he loved you boys so much. It's an honor to have one of his boys dating my daughter." Sodapop and I looked at my dad shocked, "Dad does this mean we have to go home?", "Of course not! We're here for the rest July and the full month of August!!!", "Yes! Thanks Dad." I hugged him and it finally felt like we were finally okay with each other.

2 months later.

It was the end of August, tomorrow I have to leave with my family and go back to California. I'm not excited, I'm gonna be a senior this year in my awful high school , but the worst part about leaving Tulsa...is leaving Sodapop. Ever since my dad found out that I was dating Sodapop things have been great, my dad loves Soda so much. Things have just gotten better but it was gonna come to an end tomorrow.

Tonight just me and Soda are gonna hang out, it was around 10 pm and Soda and I were walking around town together. Our hands were interlocked and we were both quiet, neither one of us wanted this to end. I kept my head down but started talking, "Sodapop I don't know where to even begin. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me, you make me so happy and you made me feel like I was worth something. I love you so much and I promise with all my heart that I will come back for you", "I love you too. Scarlet...you made everything so much better for me...you brightened up my world", "I'm gonna miss you so much...I just want you to know that if you find another girl who makes you happy, I won't be upset if you decide to be with her", "Don't say that, I will never be with anyone else besides you Scarlet...I promise." I just adored this boy, I looked up at him and stood on my tippy toes and kissed him. He kissed me back hard and tender...I wish that the night would never end.

The next day.

I woke up and went downstairs know one was down here..strange. I went back upstairs into the room Rose was staying, I lightly shook her awake, "Rose...mom and dad aren't here", "What do you mean?", "I checked the whole house...it's just you and me", "Huh...that's strange." We both went downstairs and went outside, our family was standing outside. I looked at my parents strangely, "Mom, Dad, what's going on?", "Girls we have a surprise for you!!...we're not leaving Oklahoma!", "What? What do you mean?", "I mean, we bought a house one street over!!!." My heart was just about pounding out of my chest, we're my parents being serious? "Mom your being serious right?", "Of course I am dear...I hope you girls like it here", "Don't worry...we love it here."

We got our stuff from California moved into our new house, I started my senior year at Cherry's high school, and I became much happier...I am so grateful to be able to have so many wonderful people in my life, I'm truly blessed!

Ayeeeee! I have been so busy...I'm so sorry for not posting, I hope y'all can forgive me. I am writing one more chapter to this series and than I'm gonna write an epilogue. These last few chapters have sucked but that's because I became more interested in another book that will soon be posted after this book is done! I love you!
