chapter thirteen

~Scarlet's point of view~

What the hell did I do? I have no idea what these boys see in me...I'm a nerd, I never should have even spoken to them...it's all my fault. I called Dally over to where Sodapop and I were standing, "Boys listen to me..I fucked up and went out with both of you and...now y'all are competing....but for what? I'm a loser....you can do way better than me. So for your own good...I think none of us should be more than friends.....besides it would never work between either of us. I go home in two months." They looked at me kinda sad and puzzled, Sodapop looked right into my eyes, "But Scarlet...we could make it work", "No...we can't", "Yes we can, all you need to realize is that I can treat you better than Dally can, please tell me why you are wasting time on him when you should be with me instead", "I'm sorry Sodapop....but nothings gonna happen between you and me...and nothing is gonna happen between Dally and I....I think we should just stay friends." They looked at me hurt....but I had no other choice....I went and sat back down next to Cherry....trying to forget about what just happened.

~Dally's point of view~

I saw this coming...I knew she was gonna friend zone us, but it was kinda a surprise...no one ever friend zones me. I glared at Sodapop and he glared back at me, "Well Soda...I guess neither of us got her", "It's not over yet", "I'm pretty sure it is." He glared at me and walked away, a few minutes later Two-Bit came out of nowhere, "Hey Dal..so what happened?", "Well I got friend zoned...your plan didn't work. Funny thing is...Sodapop had the same idea. He totally turned himself into me", "I'm sorry....at least you don't have to worry about it anymore", "I guess your right."

~Sodapop's point of view~

Well....I didn't think that's how things would escalate. I get what Scarlet was saying...but I didn't like it, she's a special girl...but I guess she will never be mine. But to be honest...if we did ever date I would do anything to make things work between us, I would call her every night, I would try and visit her in Cali....I would do anything to be able to be with Scarlet Holthouse.

I was walking back home when I saw my younger brother Ponyboy walking with some girl, I walked over to them, "Uh hey Ponyboy...who's that?", "Oh this is Rose Holthouse", "Oh right...hi Rose", "Hey." I looked at her and realized she didn't look anything like her sister, she was pretty..but definitely too young for me...besides I'm more into her sister. I haven't been paying much attention to what Ponyboy has been doing lately but I remembered him saying something about hanging out with Rose, "I will see you at home Ponyboy", "Okay Soda."

~Scarlet's point of view~

I was sitting watching the movie with Cherry when she turned to me, "So...I saw you talking to Soda..and Dally", "Oh right....I did what you said...I told them we should just stay friends", "It only makes sense Scarlet...but it's impressive that you have only been here two weeks and you have boys chasing after you", "Yeah well not anymore....they probably hate me." She laughed and we continued watching the movie, a few minutes later she went to the snack bar.

~Cherry's point of view~

I went over to the snack bar and bought Scarlet and I some popcorn and a coke, after I paid I looked over and saw Bob...he saw me too. I was heading back to my seat when Bob stepped in front of me, "Cherry can we talk?", "I don't want to talk Bob", "Look I'm sorry for breaking up with you...I was super drunk that night and my mind got the best of me", "It doesn't matter...we're over..leave me alone." I went to walk away but he grabbed my arm, "Listen to me Cherry..your gonna be my girl weather you like it or not", "No I'm not", "Wanna bet?." He started dragging me with him to the parking lot, "Bob what are you doing?", "I wanna show you how good I can be to you", "Bob I don't-." I was interrupted when he opened his car door and tried to push me inside his car, I used all my strength and tried to push him away from me....but I'm no match for Bob Sheldon. I kept trying to push him away from me...but it wasn't working, "Cherry just let me love you", "I SAID NO", "Cherry...you want me", "No I don't....I want you to get the hell away from me." He went to push me back into the car but suddenly out of nowhere someone threw a punch at him and knocked him out, I looked over and saw a greaser...it was Steve Randle. "Y-you just saved my life...he was literally gonna rape me", "Yeah that's not the first time he's tried to do that...just last night he tried to rape your cousin", "Scarlet?", "Yeah...she didn't tell you?", "Uh no...all she said was she was attacked", "Yeah well that wasn't the full story." I looked at Steve and if I'm being honest...he wasn't bad looking, he had this gorgeous mop of dark brown hair with these bright passionate green eyes, he must have noticed me staring at him because he smiled and spoke up, "Like what you see?", "Uh...uh...I don't know", "Your funny Cherry. So who are you here with tonight?", "Scarlet. OMG SCARLET...she's probably worried sick about where I am", "She seems like more of a laid back person to me", "Yeah...your right."
