chapter twenty~two

~Scarlet's point of view~

After Cherry left I looked at Soda with pleading eyes, "Are you sure you have to leave?", "Scarlet...you know I don't want to...but Darry said he wanted me home by twelve", "Why do you always listen to Darry", "Because he's my brother...and my guardian", "Well maybe you can just bend the rules...this one time", "Your very convincing Scarlet Holthouse", "I know!."
We both went upstairs to Cherry's room, before we even got into her room his lips were already on mine, he kissed me sweetly and passionately. After a few minutes we were both tired, we laid onto my bed and Sodapop wrapped his strong arms around me, "Goodnight Scarlet Beatrice", "Goodnight
Sodapop Patrick."

The next morning, I woke up wrapped in Sodapop's arms. He was still asleep, he was sleeping so peacefully and so beautifully. I just stared and stared at him until I heard voices downstairs, my aunt's very loud voice came echoing up the stairs, "Girls!!! We are home!." I immediately panicked, I had a boy in here and if my parents found out, especially dad, they would go nuts. I shook Sodapop but he didn't wake up, damn he's a deep sleeper. I tapped him and lightly slapped him but he still wouldn't wake up, I decided to try one last thing. I softly kissed his bright pink lips, after a few seconds he woke up, "Morning Princess-." I put my hand over his mouth, "Don't say anything, my family just got home from visiting my grandma. If they find out that I had you here....they would go ballistic...so I really need you to hide until I can get you out..okay?." He looked at me like I was crazy , "Uh okay...where do I hide?", "Uhhhhh...Cherry's closet!." I pushed him into Cherry's closet and shut the door, about three seconds later my mom and aunt opened Cherry's door and walked in, my mom smiled brightly, "Good morning sunshine! How was your night last night?", "It was good", "Did you survive without me?", "Yes mom." My mom laughed and gave me a hug, my aunt looked at me concerned, "Uh Scarlet dear..where is Cherry?", "Oh uh....she went and stayed at Marcia's last night", "Oh okay!." My mom looked at me with her pearly white smile, "Scarlet I will be downstairs, today I thought your sister and I could do something fun!", "Okay mom sounds great." My aunt and my mother both departed from Cherry's room, I opened Cherry's closet and Sodapop came out, "Damn that closet's small", "I know..I'm sorry. I didn't know they were gonna be back this morning", "It's okay baby, you wanna go to the drive in tonight?", "You know I do", "Okay..I will meet you there at 8", "Okay! Sounds perfect!." Sodapop flashed me his bright smile and kissed me, after a few seconds he pulled away and left through Cherry's window.

After I got dressed and did my hair and makeup, I met mom and Rose downstairs. My dad was at the table reading the newspaper, "Good morning Scarlet! Did you miss me?", "you know I did dad." He smiled and looked directly into my eyes, "So who did you have over this weekend?", "What? I didn't have anyone over, I know the rules, no means no." He looked at me like I was stupid, I mean I was...I was hoping he would believe me though, "I'm just giving you a hard time Scarlet", "Oh...right." I nervously laughed, I went with my mom and Rose outside, my mom smiled brightly at the both of us, "So what do you girls wanna do today?", "Anything is fine mom", "Do you guys wanna go to the mall?", "Sure." I spent the most of my day shopping with mom and Rose, it was fun and relaxing.

~Cherry's point of view~

At around noon I woke up, I was in Steve's bed laying next to him as he peacefully slept. He slept so beautifully, it was mesmerizing to watch. I watched him for about twenty minutes and than he woke up, "Morning beautiful", "Morning to you too, of should I saw afternoon. It's already noon", "DAMN! I'm late for my shift at the DX", "Oh no! You need to get there right away", "I mean it's not that big of a deal, Soda's probably covering for me but still...I can get in trouble", "Well let's go than, I wanna hang out with you." I packed up my stuff and Steve and I walked over to the DX, he doesn't live far from it. We walked in and Sodapop was behind the counter, "Steve Randle...where have you been?", "Uh sleeping", "Dude your shift started like two hours ago", "I know, I was really tired so I slept in", "Why were you so tired?", "Well I stayed up late talking to Cherry." Sodapop grinned and looked at the both of us, "Sure. You totally stayed up late talking", "Sodapop it was nothing more than that", "Yeah sure it wasn't." I looked Sodapop directly in his baby blue eyes, "You have no room to talk, you and Cherry stayed at my house last night...all by yourself", "We didn't do  nothing", "Hmmm....sure you didn't", "No honestly we really didn't."

~Scarlet's point of view~

At around 6:00 pm, mom, rose, and I finally got home. As soon as we got home I pulled my mom aside, "Mom can I pretty please go out tonight?", "But your father and I told you it's to dangerous to go out at night", "But mom-", "Scarlet I really don't wanna discuss this right now, if I let you than ur father will have a cow", "But mom...I want to see my boyfriend." She stopped and stared at me with a shocked expression, "Boyfriend? Who's your boyfriend?", "Uh..Sodapop Curtis...he lives on the other side of town", "How can you be dating a boy when we have only been here for 1 month?", "It's not my fault it was love at first sight."

Wow! I am so sorry I haven't posted, I've been very busy and every time I try and write I usually fall asleep, lol.
