chapter five

~scarlet's point of view~
The next day, I woke up and went downstairs. My family was at the table eating breakfast as usual, I grabbed some bread and put it in the toaster. My dad gave his attention to me, "Hey Scarlet!! How was your night out last night? Rose said you went out with a friend of some sort", "Uh yeah I did, we had a lot of fun", "So what friend was it?", "Uhmmm...a boy." He stopped and stared at me, "Scarlet we talked about this...I don't want you hanging with boys-." My mom came in from the living room and cut off my dad, "Seth we talked about this...she's a teenage girl", "But Stella-", "Seth...let it go." He knew that he lost the battle, after I was done eating my breakfast I went upstairs and got dressed. I came back downstairs and Rose was in the living room, "Hey Rose...wanna go on a walk with me?", "Sure! Why not?." We told our parents that we were going on a walk and than we were on our way, we were talking non-stop. A few minutes later we were near the DX, maybe my feet brought me here or maybe I was distracted and had no idea where I was walking....but I'm pretty sure I knew that I wanted to be here. We were walking by when suddenly Sodapop noticed me, "Hey Scarlet!", "Hey Soda!." Rose and I walked over to him and his friends, "So is this your sister?", "Yeah." Sodapop looked at her with his cold blue eyes, "Nice to meet you Rose", "Nice to meet you too-." Suddenly Rose stopped talking she was staring out into space, I looked over and saw her staring at this boy that was walking towards us. Sodapop looked over and saw him and his face lit up, "Guys this is my little brother Ponyboy", i looked at him. He didn't look much like Sodapop but he definitely was his brother...and he wasn't too bad of a looking guy either, not saying I would date him. "Hi...you guys are Cherry Valance's cousins right?", "Yeah..we're here for vacation. Oh also I'm Scarlet", "Nice to meet you Scarlet." He looked at my sister and she immediately turned a shade of bright pink, "Oh and this is my little sister Rose", "Nice to meet you Rose", "Uhm...nice to greet you- I mean meet you too." She got all nervous and it was really funny. Sodapop spoke up, "Ponyboy why don't you show Rose around town", "Okay follow me Rose." Rose looked at me and I nodded my head to tell her it was okay for her to go and she walked away with Ponyboy...I trusted him with my sister...he seems like a good egg. Sodapop looked at me with his beautiful smile, "So I had a really good time last night", "Me too! I totally beat you at mini golf", "You did not!!! I let you have that win", "No you didn't!!!." We we're talking when all of a sudden Dallas Winston came out of knowhere's, "Hey Scarlet!", "Hi Dally! How have you been?", "Pretty good....but I would be even better if you would come to the drive in with me tonight." I looked into his dark brown playful eyes, he has a beautiful face....just as beautiful as Sodapop's face. "You are quite the flirt, you know that?", "Yeah people tell me that all the time.....but I'm being serious...do you wanna go with me to the drive-in tonight?", "Absolutely!." I looked over and Sodapop looked jealous that I was talking to Dally. I looked into Dally's exquisite eyes, "So what time do you want me to meet you there?", "How about 8:00?", "works for me", "Okay! I will see you later!", "Alright...bye."

~Rose's point of view~

I was walking around town with Ponyboy as he showed me around, he's really cute. He has this beautiful brown hair with these light brown eyes....he's perfect. I know I just met him but I am practically in love with him and I barely even know him. He looked at me with this grin on his face, "So...tell me something about yourself", "Uh well...I'm 14, my birthday is May 16th, and I'm from LA." He looked at me with his gorgeous eyes, "What's LA like?", "It's a lot different than here. In LA you don't have to worry about a specific social class...you can just be yourself."

~Scarlet's point of view~

I was at home getting ready for my "date" with Dally, I don't really know if it's a date...I'm guessing it is...but I'm not sure. Maybe he just wants to be friends. I went downstairs and yelled to my parents, "Bye love you!." I went to open the door but my dad rushed into the room, "Scarlet Lucille Holthouse....where do you think your going?", "Out...with friends", "You do realize we have been in Oklahoma for four days...how could you possibly have friends already?", "I guess I just make friends faster than other people do." My dad looked at me and tried to read my facial expression, what my facial expression showed was that I would like to leave and get to the drive in. "Scarlet who are you going out with?", "Why do you care so much?", "Because your my daughter and I want to keep you safe", "Fine, I'm going out with this guy named Dally", "A BOY? Weren't you just out with a boy last night?", "Yeah....but I got asked out again." My dad looked shocked and angry, "Scarlet-", "Well look at the time...I gotta let you let me run! See you later dad." I kissed his cheek and left my aunts house, than I made my way to the drive-in. Let's see how this goes......

Heyyyy! Sorry this part took so long, I've been really busy. But I guess it doesn't really matter since I only have like 2 reads....and one of them is my younger sister 😭
