A/N So I've run into a bit of a problem with how the timeline spans out. I typed this episode up forgetting who dies at the end. So to fix it, the last two SVU episodes I wanted to include will be placed in between this one and "Confession," while the final Fire episode will be the one to end this book.

So next time I post a chapter we'll be traveling back to the past where it'll take place right after "Confession," cause I don't want to have to make you guys wait another 3 days.

Without further ado, please relax and enjoy the read!

*District 21: Basement/Garage: Nighttime*

Hank, Ana, and Trudy were standing in different areas of the room. They all moved to the center once Adam appeared at the bottom of the stairs and Antonio came in from the outside entrance.

"Okay, I just talked to my contact at IRT and it's as bad as you think it is." The Desk Sergeant sighed. "Kelton is leading the charge to find out exactly what happened in that building the day Rizzo died."

"When's the last time IRT reached out to you?" Hank inquired, turning to Adam.

"Uh, a few days ago? They requested a blood sample, I gave it, I haven't heard anything since." The Officer replied.

"That's because IRT's no longer involved." Trudy revealed. "Internal Affairs has officially taken over the investigation."

Hank was stone-faced, as always, but was internally boiling with anger towards Kelton and concern for the future of their unit. He felt Ana tense up at his side and, discreetly, grabbed her hand in comfort.

"Means they found something." Antonio muttered. "Something actionable."

"Thanks, Hun." The brunette nodded, mustering up small grateful smile.

"Yeah." Trudy gave her best friend one in return before walking off towards the nearest exit.

"What do we do now?" Adam wondered.

The two Sergeants glanced at each other and shared a look.

"We fight back." They answered simultaneously.

*Bullpen: The Next Morning*

The members of the Intelligence Unit were all currently at or near their desks and Ana, along with everyone else, looked over as her husband came out of his Office with Adam right behind him.

"All right, listen up." Hank called, holding up a photo of a young African American male. "We got a new target. His name is Wilson Young, he's a high level dealer for the South Side Hustlers. Got multiple priors for possession, distribution, and assault."

"The guy's been a player for a while now, but no charges have been brought against him for four years 'cause nothing will stick." Adam added.

"Because he's got a protector. Brian Kelton." The older man revealed, ignoring the looks the team were suddenly trading with each other. "Bottom line, Wilson. . .is Kelton's fix it man."

"So you want to catch Wilson dirty." Antonio realized.

"Yeah, but it has got to be real dirty. Gotta be a big ticket charge. Something he can't wiggle out of." Hank reasoned and a knowing smirk appeared on Ana's face.

"Something big enough that'll force him to flip on Kelton." She finished for her husband.

"I got an angle." Kevin spoke up and both Sergeants nodded for him to continue. "CI Maya Shelly. She hangs out with the Southside Hustlers. Great with intros."
