Matt eventually broke out of the hug and, seeing that Kelly wasn't quite ready yet, gave him a comforting pat on the shoulder before sharing a look with Chief. The older man silently motioned for everybody to head towards the Waiting Room and everyone but the members of Squad 3 did so without question. Joe, Capp, and Tony were too loyal to leave their Lieutenant alone right now, regardless of Ana being with him.

Speaking of the brunette, she spotted Will's red hair peeking out of a nearby room over Kelly's shoulder. The older woman instantly knew his father had to be the one in there and silently asked him if he was okay. The doctor gave her a reassuring smile and nodded before disappearing behind the light green curtain.

"Hey, how are you guys doing?" The voice of Maggie Lockwood inquired.

Kelly immediately pulled back and wiped at his eyes.

"Choi kicked us out." He muttered, glaring at the Asian doctor through the silding glass doors.

Ana just rubbed the Lieutenant's arm in comfort.

"Yeah, he needs room to work, Kelly." The Head Nurse explained, gently. "Try to be patient."

She walked off and Ethan came out a few minutes later.

"Hey, what's happening?" Kelly wondered, referring to how Stella had started convulsing a bit but seems fine now.

"Her vitals are holding, but she's in pretty bad shape." The doctor sighed. "We're running some tests and should know more soon."

An alarm sounded from inside Stella's room and Ethan rushed back over. There was some blood now visible in the intubation tube and Ana's eyes widened as she glanced at up Kelly, who looked ready to cry. The brunette would've had her arms filled, once again, with the Lieutenant had Connor not showed up a few seconds later. Ethan had a nurse prop the door open so the surgeon and, by extension, everyone else could hear what was happening.

"Blood's coming too fast." April hissed "Every time I suction the tube, it fills back up again."

"Hang another unit and just do your best to keep up." Ethan instructed.

"Where's the x-ray?" Connor wondered, only for it to appear on a screen to the right a second later. "She's got a massive hemorrhage in her right lung. It's impossible to say where it's coming from." He observed. "All right, call the blood bank, trigger the MTP."

"Can you stop the bleed?" Kelly inquired, voice drenched in concern

"First I've gotta find it." The surgeon replied, not looking away from the scene in fron of him. "Let's set up for a bronchoscopy."

Connor rushed in and the Lieutenant could do nothing but swallow, thickly, and watch. He blindly reached out with his right hand and Ana immediately grabbed it, rubbing soothing circles into the back of the limb.

*A Little While Later*

By now, the other members of Squad 3 had left, knowing their Lieutenant was in good hands. Ana just stood beside her godson, offering up all the comfort she could give, when her gaze suddenly shifted a bit as she caught Jay storming out of his dad's room.

"Sev, I'll be right back okay? I'm just gonna go check on my Detective." She explained, gently.

Kelly gave a small nod and released her hand from his iron grip. He'd latched onto her left so he hadn't been afraid to hold on as tight his could. The brunette gave him one last comforting squeeze before letting go and rushing over to Jay.
