A/N This chapter is way shorter than usual due to the fact that this Episode focuses mainly on Kevin for the majority of it.

I will also add a TRIGGER WARNING here and say that the end of this chapter includes a heavy topic that was briefly touched upon in "Ride Along." If you know what I am talking about and/or are sensitive to this, please read the end with extreme caution. Or don't. Whichever works best for you.❤️

Anyway, please relax and enjoy the read!

*Near Division Street: 2 Blocks Away*

Hank was walking towards the red tape, away from a body, with Ana to his left as well as Kevin and Adam to his right. The two Officers were catching their Sergeants up on what they had so far in regards to their newest case.

"Kid took two to the chest." Adam reported. "Found two nine-millimeter rounds right next to the body."

"Signs of a struggle?" The older man wondered.

"No, just took two and dropped right where he stood." Kevin shook his head.

"And the murder weapon?" Ana inquired.

"Nothing recovered so far." Adam muttered.

"Been doing surveillance on this block for weeks. This is a known re-up spot for Kenny's corner boys." Kevin explained as a patrolman held the strip of tape high enough for the small group to walk under.

"DOA was actually a kid we were supposed to meet up with tonight." Adam added, spotting Hailey and Jay coming over.

"All right, so the kid asks for more weight. Kenny gets spooked that he might be snitching, so he shoots him." Hank speculated with a small shrug.

"We have two witnesses that saw a boy running away from the construction site moments after the shots were fired." The blonde informed.

"And the physical description matches Nathan, Malik's sidekick." The male Detective added.

"Well, maybe he's the shooter." Adam pointed out.

"Or he's a friend that saw the shooter and he ran like Hell." Kevin retorted.

"Either way, he's our only lead, so let's find him. . . and fast." Ana commanded.

*Later That Night: District 21: Bullpen*

"Nathan Hawkins, 15 years old. Dropped out of school a year ago to start slinging dope for Kenny Armstrong." Kim informed from the whiteboard upon seeing Hank and Ana walking in.

"Yeah, he has one arrest on his record. It's for a delivery charge three months ago." Antonio added, looking up from a file as they passed by.

The brunette moved over to her desk and took a seat while her husband stood at the halfway point between there and his Office.

"Any idea where he might be hanging out?" The older man inquired.

As if on cue, Jay and Hailey came in from the Interrogation Area.

"His last known address was his mom's apartment in Austin but she OD'd a year ago around the time he started dealing." The former replied.

"What about the father?" Ana wondered.

"Uh, been behind bars for the last decade." The blonde answered while sitting at her desk.

"Who bailed him out when he got busted?" Adam inquired from his and Hailey opened her mouth to respond.
