*District 21: Bullpen*

The Team got wind of a drug deal going down a nighclub from one of Jay's informants. Things went south, however, when the Detective recognized the name of the supplier.

"The mystery player bringing in China White is Matthew Garrett." Hailey informed, taping his picture to the white board and facing the rest of the team. "He was doing 20 years for possession with intent to distribute, served six, was released last month."

"So the police put in the proper paperwork before they did the bust. It was deemed an illegal search." Adam explained, walking over and handing Hank a file before taking a seat a his desk. "That's why the city awarded Garrett $200,000 for wrongful arrest."

The older man, who was standing by where his wife was currently seated at her desk, released a grunt and opened the file.

"Now he's using the settlement from the city to corner the market on high-end heroin." Antonio sighed from a bookshelf near Ana's desk.

"Gotta love the justice system." Kim muttered from where she was seated at Hailey's.

"I get it, but we gotta stand down." Hank commanded, shaking his head. "Ivory tower doesn't want us chasing these so-called wrongful conviction offenders."

The response to that had the older man crossing his arms and leaning back on Ana's desk while she looked over in concern.

"To Hell with that. Garrett's not just a drug dealer, he's a murderer." Jay spat, standing up from his desk and taping a photo of a young brunette girl to the board. "He killed Lauren Sanders. She was 17 years old, she ran away from home. Garrett found her, he pimped her out, and then she just disappeared. We found her bloody clothes in a dumpster." The younger male Detective recalled, bitterly, putting up a picture of that as well. "We never found her body, so we couldn't make the case. All due respect, standing down should not be an option."

Everyone looked at the two Sergeants to see what they would say. The couple just stared at each other for a few seconds and nodded.

"Okay, let's go after him." Ana decided, firmly.

"Well, the good news is, prick's got ambition, means we can catch him dirty, put him away once and for all." Hank pointed out, standing up and slowly walking over to Jay.

"So, dig into Garrett's associates and talk to your C.I.'s." Ana ordered. "Let's find a way in and set up a buy bust."

"So who made the arrest, put him away in the first place?" The older man inquired in a lower voice while everyone else scrambled around to do as they were told.

"Narcotics, Garrett was part of the Beverly Crew." Jay replied.

"That's good. I got a guy who can help." Hank nodded.

"Thanks, guys." The Detective murmured, shooting both Sergeants a grateful look.

The older man merely grunted in reply and ducked inside his Office. He came back out with a heavy winter jacket on and headed over to his wife.

"I'm gonna pay my old pal, Gus, a visit. See if he can give me anything useful." He explained, softly, giving her a quick kiss.

Ana merely smiled and nodded.

*A Little While Later*

Through Gus, the team found out about Garrett's little Cousin, Tyler Renolds. Using that, Adam was able to strike up a deal with the supplier but a new problem had arisen: The 1505 funds got denied.

Ana was currently seated at her desk and looked up as Jay walked by, nodding for her to follow. She stood up and moved into the doorway of Hank's Office as the Detective went inside.
