*District 21: Bullpen*
The members of the Intelligence Unit were all scattered around in various places as they went over the details of their current case. The most important of which being that Kevin was undercover with the gang they were investigating.
"Our shot caller is Phil Gamble, been in the gang for 20 years, has a very diversified portfolio of criminal enterprises, but he makes most of his money the old fashioned way, mostly drugs. Heroin, to be exact." Said Officer explained from the whiteboard.
He turned to face Hank, who was standing to Hailey's right while Jay was to her left and all three cops were in front of the male Detective's desk.
"Yeah, we ran into Gamble a while back. Rival dealer was putting out lethal product under Gamble's logo." The older man recalled. "So, he shot said rival in the face three times, practically told me as much."
"Gamble's number two is Daryl Ingram. And this guy, Laz, he works underneath him." Jay continued, stepping forward and gesturing to the photos with his pen.
"Yeah, Laz, unlike Daryl, is extremely gullible. I've been working him as an unwitting for the past three weeks. Thinks we're buddies and we're gonna start a nightclub together soon." Kevin reported. "But Daryl, on the other hand, tight as Hell, doesn't get involved with outsiders at all."
"So, we need to find a way to earn his trust." Ana summarized and the Officer looked over to where she was seated at her desk.
"I'm doing my best, Sarge, dusted off my ol' pool game and everything." He sighed. "But I'm gonna need a new angle, 'cause I'm nowhere near the pocket."
"I think I found your angle." Kim spoke up, walking over with a few papers in her hands. "In Price's file, he jotted down a few notes on Daryl's weak spot."
Alderman Ray Price. A friend Hank had made a few years back and told his wife about not too long after. They both knew he wasn't someone Ana needed or wanted to be around so she agreed to let her husband handle any and all business involving him.
"Okay, weak spots are good." Hank nodded. "What is it?"
"More like who." She corrected.
*A Little While Later*
That weakness came in the form of Daryl's little brother, Vance. The plan was for Kevin to pose as a basketball coach looking to recruit some bright young men and see if that helped him get any closer to Daryl.
"Yo, yo. I got good news. Me and Daryl are solid. We're doing dinner tonight at his bar." Kevin reported as he appeared at the top of the stairs.
"All right, so, let's figure out a way to exploit this newfound trust." Hank decided, standing up straight from where he'd been hunched over Jay's desk.
"Kev, why don't you intro me as a buyer?" The male Detective suggested.
"No, he doesn't sell to outside dealers at all." Kevin shook his head. "He's got a tight network, not looking to expand."
"Or we could come at it from the other end. We could sell to him rather than buy from him." Adam offered from where he was sitting on his desk.
"I like the way you think, but that's not gonna work either." Kevin sighed. "He's got a supplier that he likes a lot."
"Man, solution without a problem." Jay muttered.
"Then we create the problem." Ana retorted, looking over at her husband.
"I'll make a call." He nodded.
*The Next Night: Basement/Garage*
Ray gave Hank the name of Daryl's supplier and the address to his stash house. The Team hit it which allowed Kevin to slip in and do his "friend" a "favor." With Antonio under as the seller, they managed to strike a deal and the rest of the team was preparing for the operation to go down.
