*The Voight Residence: Bedroom*
"Henry, if it involves 51 then I need to go with!" Ana insisted, throwing her jacket on and glaring at the man currently blocking the doorway.
"Yeah, I know. But your in no condition to go anywhere right now." Hank pointed out. "You need to rest."
The brunette sighed as she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror above their dresser. The cuts littering her face were almost healed and the bruises had receded slightly but her left eye still remained closed. Most of the swelling had gone down though so she merely covered the injury with her hair and placed Alvin's hat on top her head.
"I'm fine. It always looks worse than it is and you know that." Ana retorted as she made her way over to her husband.
"Doesn't change the fact that I almost lost you." He muttered.
"But you didn't." The brunette countered, taking his right hand in hers. "I'm right here and those men can't even think about hurting me again cause you took care of them."
"That's not what I'm talking about." Hank murmured, switching their grips so he was holding her right hand and gently toyed with a peice of gauze sticking out of the brace. "Will found the burns while you were sleeping. Why would you do that to yourself?"
Ana's face had drained of all color and she swallowed, dryly. The older man looked genuinely upset.
"Can we talk about this later?" She asked in a small voice. "We have a case to solve."
Hank stared at his wife for a few seconds and sighed.
"You can come with on one condition." He conceded, looking her dead in the eye. "You give me your lighter and smoke in front of me from now on."
The brunette hesistated before reaching into her left jacket pocket and dropping the small object into his awaiting hand. The older man merely placed it in his pocket and pulled Ana into a soft kiss.
*Firehouse 51: Briefing Room*
"So what's this favor you think I owe you?" Chief inquired as he pushed the doors open, allowing Matt, Kelly, and Grissom to walk through.
The Fire Commissioner moved towards the window before turning back around. The two younger men had flanked their boss on either side while he glared at the man in front of him.
"You've already forgotten your troubles with the Assistant Deputy Commissioner? I'm the one, per his father's request, got Gorsch off your back." Grissom snapped while pointing at Kelly.
"You're the one who put Gorsch on his back!" The Lieutenant retorted.
"If you're still confused why I needed someone keeping an eye on 51, I'm happy to have that conversation." The Fire Commissioner countered.
"Let's just talk about why you're here." Chief suggested, getting back to the topic at hand.
"The police commissioner's office reached out to me and requested a little inter-departmental synergy." Grissom revealed, oblivious to Matt glancing off to his left and doing a double take at what he saw. "Apparently there's some cop on the Intelligence Unit that's trying to tarnish CFD's image and I need you to make sure it doesn't stick."
"Is it Hank Voight?" The Captain wondered.
"How'd you know?" The Fire Commissioner asked.
"Cause he just walked in." Matt replied, rushing over to the open the door. "In here."
