*730 West on 31st Street*

Hank and Ana arrived on the scene after Adam and Hailey responded to a call over the radio about an armed robbery. The couple was making their way down the street when the Officer suddenly slid into step beside the brunette.

"All right, where are we at?" She inquired.

"When we rolled up, it was in progress." Adam explained. "Offenders made good their escape."

"Yeah, and did some planning. Took fast escape routes on the interstate from here." Hank remarked.

"Do you have the plates?" Ana wondered as they approached the truck that was robbed.

"Yeah, it came back hot. Stolen from the Gold Coast a week ago." Adam nodded, receiving a grunt in reply. "Patrol's got a possible sighting in Humboldt Park. Atwater and Burgess are on it."

"Okay." Ana motioned for someone to continue as the three rounded the back side of the vehicle and met up with Jay and Hailey, who were standing their waiting for them.

"Driver's in surgery at Med. Severe blunt-force trauma to the head. It could go either way." The blonde reported.

"Okay, what were they after?" Hank inquired.

"Pills." Adam muttered.

"How much did they get?" Ana asked, looking over at him in intrest.

"I checked the driver's manifest. It looks like they got away with four boxes of bulk opioids. Street value of about a quarter million." The Officer estimated.

"Patrolman told me this is the third van heist in the area this month." Jay added, shifting everyone's attention over to himself. "There's no working PODS on the block. No luck with business surveillance either."

The two Sergeants shared a quick look.

"All right, let's talk to the drug manufacturer and the shipping company." Hank ordered. "We want to know all their routes and what exactly was on those vans."

"If we figure out how they did it, that should help us find who did it." Ana reasoned.

The couple received several nods in reply and began walking back to their SUV. Everyone else went off to carry out their orders

Jay walked up to the whiteboard with an open file in hand.

"I spoke to Robbery. All three vans were owned by Venture Shipping. The offenders, they hit the vans early in their route while the pig was fat. They got in and out fast. Seems like they know what they're doing." He informed.

"And nothing on the van drivers?" Hank asked in confirmation from where he was standing next to Ana, who was seated at her desk.

"No, all three are clean. Nothing to suggest it was an inside job." Jay shook his head.

"So. . ." The older man nodded from him to continue.

"All right, our best lead comes from these blowups taken from a nearby auto repair shop. Now this? This is offender one." The Detective explained, taping few photos onto the board. "This guy's got $300 sneakers on. This is the one that beat down the driver. The driver said he was speaking English. He sounded like a local."

Jay finished just as Adam walked over and took his place.

"All right, boss, as far as I can tell, this is all about the opioids. But in this whole process, there were some other meds taken." The Officer reported.

"Wait, other drugs?" Ana inquired, leaning forward in intrest.

Adam gave an affirmative hum jn response.
