*Firehouse 51: Chief's Office*

The owner was seated at his desk with Ana standing to his left. Matt and Kelly were in the chairs across from them and the Lieutenant had his father's notebook safety on his lap.

"When it came to cases like these, Benny would ask for my help every now and then. Of course, I aided him as much as I could but there was this one arsonist from back in the day that just kept slipping through our fingers every chance they got." The brunette began. "I mean, whoever this person was, they were doing one Hell of a job of pissing me off. Benny, on the other hand, he was absolutely obsessed with 'em. He called them his White Whale."

"The guy was responsible for at least eight fires between 2002 and 2004." Kelly continued, opening Benny's notebook and pulling something out of it. "Killed two people, injured another six."

"We never got an ID on the suspect and the only description came from one of the burn victims, who got a passing look at a 30-ish male, about 6'2." Ana recalled as the Lieutenant handed Matt a rough sketch of the person she just described.

"Then all of a sudden, the fires stopped, trail went cold, until now." The silver-haired man finished.

"What makes you think he's responsible for the salon fire?" The male Captain wondered.

Surprisingly, the answer came from neither Ana or her Godson.

"Identical timing device." Chief answered instead, handing him a crime scene photo of said object. "Same kind of kitchen timer jury-rigged in the exact same way."

"And he always disables the electric meter during a break-in." Kelly added.

"How do you explain the 15-year gap?" Matt inquired.

"There's a variety of reasons to pick and choose from." Ana shrugged. "Could've gotten sent to prison for something else, moved to a different state."

"But the notes in Benny's book, and Ana's past experience, tell us that this is the same guy." Kelly insisted, firmly.

"Could be a copycat." Chief pointed out.

"We didn't release that many details to the public." Ana retorted.

"Why didn't you give OFI the notebook along with the case file?" Matt questioned.

"Because it's technically in CPD's custody." Kelly replied, nodding in Ana's direction.

"And that book belonged to a very good friend of mine. I'm not gonna hand it over unless I know the person I'm giving it to will keep it safe." The brunette reasoned, shooting a pointed look at her Godson.

"Fair enough." Matt conceded.

"I'll take a copy to Hubble today." Kelly offered, collecting all of his papers and placing them into a nice neat stack.

Chief grabbed an orange envelope and held it out in response.

"Messenger it and stay out of Hubble's hair." He ordered. "It's about time OFI handled this. You got a job here to do. Come on."

The Lieutenant hesistated and glanced at Ana, who merely nodded in reply. He slid the stack of papers inside and Chief promptly handed them off to the brunette on his left. She took it with a knowing smirk and followed Kelly as he made his way towards the door.
