Chapter 23 The Broken Protector

"Did you smoke, drink and took illegal drugs before?" Nesby firmly asked the question.

"Wait, what do you mean by that? I didn't know anything about it at all," Ivy starts to panic as she knew things are falling apart.

"You still don't believe in it? Kasumi, read it out,"

"According to a user, they say that they witness Ivy going to a bar to drink after school, and a man will always stay up with her all the time until midnight," Kasumi purposely read it out loud.

"No, stop reading it, I beg you," Ivy held on her head with both hands.

"Ignore her, just continue," Nesby stopped Ivy.

"She was also allegedly found smoking in public areas and took illegal drugs that I won't say here,"

Listening to all the things Kasumi read from the article, Ivy finally knew what was wrong and started apologizing to Nesby. "Please, please forgive me for what I've done this whole time,"

"Anymore to say to her before I press the publish button and let the whole world know?" Kasumi tried to provoke Ivy.

"Yes, I am really regretful for what I did to you in the past. Now, you can just hit me how much you want, as long as you don't post out the things that she said,"

Suddenly, Nesby dropped her knife and walked backwards as she looks as she has forgiven her. After reversing her steps, Nesby stood in place before she released a mocking laugh, just like how she won a match with Ivy.

"Look at you, we switched roles a few years after. You are finally experiencing what I have to go through this whole time and I am so happy," Nesby proudly said in front of Ivy.

"I don't care what you said just now, but I am begging you and that old lady not to post any of my dark histories out, or else my studies are going to be destroyed," Ivy begged with tears flowing out from corners of her eyes.

With Ivy begging not to remove it, Kasumi stood in place with her phone still in the post-stage while Kiya and Ellis were told to witness Kasumi.

"Girls, keep an eye on her. Make sure she didn't post it,"

"Yes, madam,"

The two of them looked at Kasumi's phone, waiting for her to quit the app. Within a few clicks, Kasumi didn't publish the article and showed Ivy that she has already cancelled the publication.
"Thank you so much, not that I have something to do, I would have to leave first,"

Ivy boldly walked out while having a smirk on her face. However, Nesby has a different reaction as she walked over to Kasumi with dissatisfaction written on he face.

"Kasumi, you were so close to publishing it, why didn't you do that in the end?" Nesby questioned.

"They are literally standing beside me and I can't do anything but follow whatever they told me to do," Kasumi said.

"But you don't have to be that stupid and follow their procedures to satisfy them," Nesby scolded.

Kasumi made a shocking face as if Nesby didn't know something. Nesby got confused and asked: "Why are you making that all of the sudden?"

"I didn't get to explain it to you just now since you spent so much time telling me off. Let me explain everything from the start,"

Then, she took out her phone and showed her something. It turns out Kasumi had already published the article way before the match started, so all of that was just acting to make them think she was about to post it for the first time when she was not.

"If you still don't believe in what I am saying right now, just search up the keywords," Kasumi confidently said.

Nesby then took out her phone as she keyed in the keywords and saw a lot of articles talking about Ivy's suspicious behaviour. From certain articles, she was able to see a lot of malicious comments from different users.

"Woah, you really did a good job right there, Kasumi. Definitely win this match in a big way,"

"Indeed. I actually predicted something like this was about to happen, so I posted it last night after dinner, prepare all of the things beforehand, act with them and in the end, they got fooled,"

"This was some hard work right there. Anyways, we should give ourselves something good today since we deserved it,"

"Sure, what do you want?"

"Something different from our usual dinner,"

Soon, the duo walked home after winning a match after years in Guardian Hall.

"You wanted to cook the tuna we caught the other day?" Kasumi asked.

"Sure, why not?"
