Chapter 26 Eternal Lasting

Knew that her eye is bleeding, Kasumi covered her eye and wanted to run away. However, after witnessing his daughter's eye getting shot, Kasumi's dad took out his gun and shoot at the yakuza to express his rage.

With the number of people taking advantage of the other team, Kasumi's father was still unable to avoid the cruel fate as he was continuously shot by the other yakuza to death.

Kasumi was devastated to see her father die on the scene with his gun held at his left hand. Knowing they are the next victim, Kasumi's mother ran away while pulling Kasumi along.

The duo tried to swing the yakuza away to protect Kasumi. However, they got caught up and Kasumi's mother hugged Kasumi tightly to protect her.

"Remember, if mommy dies in the end, you have to avoid them and run somewhere they can't find you. Understand, Michi?"

"Yes,"

Soon, the yakuza caught up to them and shot Kasumi's mother at the back, causing her to die on the scene as well. Left on her own, Kasumi quickly ran away from the scene and they started chasing after her.

As Kasumi runs out of the building, she got to the streets and continued to run. She wanted to think of an escape plan, but she was too sad to think about it as her parents died in front of her and sacrificed their lives for her.

In the end, she came across a dustbin and decided to hide there from the yakuza. Luckily, neither of them found her as they went over to the rubbish bin without noticing it once.

After the coast is clear, Kasumi slowly peeked out and make sure that the yakuza were gone. Ever since she lost her parents in one go, she became an orphan in one day.

"Wait, so how do you get to Malaysia after this?" Nesby asked.

"At first, after I ran to the streets, I didn't know where to go because I am so clueless about what to do at that time,"

Later, when Kasumi is walking around the streets, she heard a conversation between two people, where they are talking about something. Since she is curious, Kasumi got closer to hearing everything.

In the conversation, one of them mentioned a country called Malaysia and apparently, they wanted to go to Sarawak. Since Kasumi doesn't know the place very well, she still decides to escape to Malaysia because the yakuza might chase her.

Before she escapes, she wore a black mask that covers her face, dressed like a yakuza and changed her name from Michi to Kasumi. This plan made her leave Osaka forever.

Once Nesby finished hearing the story, she said: "I felt the bittersweet inside my heart, and you are a strong girl, facing all of the obstacles you have to face as a 13-year-old,"

"Well, I also think you are the same as I am since you forgive yourself when you have mistakes,"
As a way to end the day, they hugged each other and left the sauna before changing their clothes and going home.

Months later, they still stayed together in the small basement. But, Kasumi and Nesby were able to move to an apartment as they started selling things online and did a few part-time jobs to earn enough money.

One day after Nesby got back, Kasumi told her to come as there is the piggy bank that has their money. There is also a hammer beside Kasumi and Nesby was able to figure out what's going to happen.

"We are going to reveal something?"

"Yup," Without hesitation, Kasumi took the hammer and hit the piggy bank to reveal the money they earned. In the end, they have enough money to buy a unit from the apartment and Nesby helped out while Kasumi is moving.

The moving lasted for days as they have a lot to move. During the last day of moving, Kasumi thanked Nesby and wanted her to stay with her.

"Thanks for the offer, but I still wanted to be a lone wolf in the end,"

"But why though? You can stay with me forever,"

"No thanks, I felt like being independent is my thing and I can feel sorry if someone like you is with me all the time,"

"Wait, really? In this case, do take care of yourself since there is a lot of bad people outside," Kasumi told Nesby.

"Thanks. I should also visit you if I have time,"

Nesby then made a gentle laugh before she asked: "In this case, can I have your phone number?"

"Sure,"

After getting Kasumi's phone number, she turned around and said: "Take care of yourself, I'll be back soon,"

"Okay,"

Once she sent her goodbyes, Nesby was once again a lone wolf. However, she learned a lot of new things in the process and she felt more confident than before.

"Well, let's see what is coming next," Nesby looked at the sky while thinking about it.
