Chapter 18 Fishing Out Stress

The next day, Kasumi woke Nesby up around 6 am as she starts the day by scratching her messy hair into the washroom. Once she finished tidying herself, she went back to her bed and called Nesby to wake up.

"Hey, you gotta wake up now, we should be packing the things for today's special activity,"

"What was it about though?" Nesby asked.

"Fishing?"

"Oh," Nesby nodded. "Wait a minute, did you just say fishing?"

"Yea,"

Nesby cannot believe her ears as she knows that her impatient personality might ruin the fishing experience. However, Kasumi told her that was the reason why they are going fishing today, which was to practice and meditate on Nesby's inner feelings.

"This might be a good opportunity to give me some meditation too now that I thought of it," Kasumi said.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get breakfast and start this,"

Soon, the duo head to get breakfast and continued to pack up their equipment for their fishing day. Once they got all of their things ready, they left the basement and headed to the fishing spot.

Just on their way, Kasumi suggested Nesby buy herself some food and drinks since fishing usually takes a long time and judging by Nesby's stomach might go hungry in a few hours.

"Well, there should be a small grocery store nearby, so I can go get some," Nesby said.

Once they got to the store, Nesby got into the store with some pocket money and bought some goods for their fishing day. After the groceries part, they continued the walk to the fishing spot.

On their way, Nesby wondered if she was able to get any fish since she doesn't know much about fishing. She was also curious to know what fish she is going to get while Kasumi just ended her worries by telling her: "It's a process, usually I don't care what fish I will get,"

Shortly after, they reached their fishing spot and proceeded to rent two fishing poles and baits for themselves. At this time, Kasumi started her boring lesson: "Well, after getting the best fishing pole and bait, we need to find a good spot to fish,"

"Really? Didn't you see that there is a sign that was written 'best spot to fish'?"

"Oh right," Kasumi embarrassedly answered. "Let's just go there, shall we?"

Soon, a staff member of the fishing spot went up to them and offered to teach them the basics of how to fish. First, they would have to hook the bait at the end of the rod. Then, they have to throw the bait into the ocean by using their might to swing the rod towards. After that, they would have to wait for the fish to be trapped by their bait.

Once the worker finished their explanation, the duo was left to do the fishing on their own. Both of them followed what the staff taught them by starting by assembling the bait on the hook. After finishing with the assembly, they threw the bait into the ocean with their rod and place the rod at the side.

While waiting for the fish to get their bait, they decided to have some snacks since neither of them was able to tell how long it is going to take.

In the end, it took them a whole day to wait for the fish. At one point, Nesby was tired and she decided to take a nap while telling Kasumi to wake her up when her rod is moving.

"Well, sleep head. Go get the nap then,"

After waiting a little longer, Kasumi's rod was moving as she quickly grabbed the rod tightly while pulling it to avoid the fish from running away from her precious bait. Once Kasumi pulled the rod, all she saw was an empty hook with no fish.

"Well, that's fishing for me. There will either be fish or not. I already accepted the truth,"

Didn't want to fish another one, she kept her rod aside while Nesby woke up and asked her: "So, do you got any?"

Nope. The fish ate my bait and swam away,"

"Oh well,"

Later, Nesby saw her rod moving as she quickly ran to grab her rod and starts pulling it. With her determination to get one, she hopes she could get one to make her fishing experience good.

With a pull, Nesby was able to capture a tuna with her rod. However, she was so surprised to see a tiny fish on her hook.

"Woah, what was this?" Nesby curiously asked.

"It's tuna. It's small but better than nothing,"

"So, should we continue fishing?"

"Yup, your harvests made me fish again,"

For the rest of the day, they continued to fish until the evening, and they were able to bring a bucket of fish home, enough for their dinner for the next few days. Since they have a lot of fish, they decided to cook one for dinner to commemorate this special day.

Because Kasumi told Nesby that her favourite was salmon, the duo agreed to have that fish for dinner. Alongside the fish, they also added ramen and a salad.

While enjoying the dinner, Kasumi asked Nesby if she needs more practice for her nunchucks to face off Ivy. With her mouth filled with food, Nesby answered: "To be honest, I felt there were certain parts I am still not confident with, so probably the practice will be able to give me an opportunity to polish,"

"Well, in this case, go get yourself some rest after dinner,"

After their delicious dinner, Nesby took a shower before she played with her phone for a while before going to sleep with mixed emotions in her head.
