Chapter 7 Innocent to Badass

"Darling, what happened the whole day yesterday? I am so worried for you,"

"I'm fine, mom," Nesby answered her mother and proceed to hug her.

At first, everything was going right. The secret of the yellow eyes was still not leaked, and the atmosphere is warm and loving. However, Nesby starts to have emotional thoughts resurfacing back to her head again.

With her head full of emotional scenes and their hug getting tighter, Nesby can't help but shed some tears. This is where the downward spiral started.

Her mother didn't realize the yellow sparkling tears her daughter was making and asked: "Why are you crying, darling?"

"I wasn't sure. I am so happy to see you again, mama," Nesby still haven't noticed that her tears were exposing and one of them dropped to the carpet and started igniting a bit.

Her father just came out to see his daughter crying after not coming home for one day, but he also saw the carpet slowly igniting. Without thinking twice, he took out a fire extinguisher and started putting out the fire.

"Why are you taking the fire extinguisher out of nowhere?"

"Look at your daughter," Nesby's father pointed at her face.

Nesby's mother saw it and pushed her away. She is in shock seeing Nesby's yellow eyes. "What on earth am I seeing right now?"

"She literally changed into a monster when we haven't met her for one day!"

This push scares Nesby more as she can't help herself and continue t shed her face with tears. More yellow tears dropped to the carpet and it accidentally ignited the carpet again.

Nesby's father saw it again and aimed the fire extinguisher again at the patch that is igniting slowly. "What are you doing Nesby? You are insane!"

"Dad, I didn't mean to do this in the first place. You gotta believe in me, I have no intention in doing this,"

"Shut up, young lady. You are going nuts right now and I literally feel you are just going to kill us and commit a crime,"

"Dad, please. You gotta believe in me,"

However, Nesby's father won't let her explain and pulled her to her room. He pulled his daughter's arm and swung her into her room. "Don't you dare coming out after this chaos happened,"

Soon, he slammed the door and locked the door. Nesby realized her father locked the door with a snap and knocked on the door, begging him to open the door and let her out.

No matter how hard Nesby knocked on the door, no one responded to her, not to mention her parents who were scared of her after the dramatic changes on her. The whole situation took a toll on her as no one bothered her for the rest of the night. She cried in her room as her voice was echoed this whole time.

Despite all of what she is receiving this whole time, she still insisted to go to school the next day. The whole time she is crying, she was sitting on the floor, shivering because of the cold weather.
She got up and slowly walked to the bed with her face which has full of tear traces. Her world goes dark and bright repetitively. No one is reaching a hand for her, who needs help. That night is hard for Nesby. She can't go to sleep with all of the bad memories flashing again and again.

The next day, she woke up from bed with a pair of baggy eyes. Nesby cried in silence the whole night. The cherishing memories reappear in her head over and over, making her super bitter and painful.

She carefully got up as she sees herself in the mirror, looking tired and headed to the bathroom. She looked at herself again and said: "Everything is going to be alright, I swear..."

Nesby presses her lips with her teeth, trying to hold the tears. Even though the door was still locked, she used the windows to escape the room and headed to school.

However, things are not going as to how Nesby expected. The moment she walks into the hallway, people changed the way they see her. It was awful regarding the whole situation that Nesby can only lower her head this whole time.

Worse of all, teachers replaced her spot with other students for her upcoming international competitions just because of her scary appearance. What has gone wrong?

It got seriously bad that the discrimination is starting to affect Nesby's mental health. She cries to sleep, she lost her interest in anything and feel into a hole that never stops. What's worse, Nesby has no intention of hurting anyone at all.

All in one day, she came from the school's most outstanding role model to everyone's yellow eye monster. Many changed in one night and the question appears, why did she accept it in the first place?

If she doesn't accept it, she would be having her whole life like a playground. But, there is no time left for her to think. Once school ends, she left school and made an unexpected decision.

She walked to the garbage cans, took her bag down and throws the whole bag into the garbage bin. Nesby also decides to use the garbage to cover the bag.

Her decision is to leave school. After what she faced in school, she decided to stop school and pack her things. She can no longer live in a family that was broken into pieces that no longer supports her. While she is digging the trash, she saw something special, a pair of old nunchucks in the bin.

Nesby felt that this pair of nunchucks will be something for her to fight against her fear. Taking up the nunchuck, she simply sweeps the dust away using her hand and took it with her.

Right now, she just wants to walk around the streets to find happiness and recover from the pain she has gone through before going back to her house one last time and leaving it forever.
